You really think Obama's 42 point loss in West Virginia for example had nothing to do with race?  I personally know a lot of openly racist people and/or people who think Obama is a Muslim, and I live about as far from the South as you can get without being in Canada.  Also, I think the recent economic  up would've helped Hilary even more though, not because of race, but because she has more experience.

It was shallow and a rehash of all the usual and very good Obama talking points.  The production values were great and the testimonials were effective.  But content-wise, there was nothing of real substance.

That said, I have to LOL -- and I mean loud -- when Republicans call it shallow, touchy-feelie, lacking substance, etc.

If Ronald Reagan had run the same info-mercial, they'd be wiping away tears and talking about how "It's morning in America again". And it would be the same superficial pablum...just with old Dutch's winsome, smiling face.

Folks, this is just politics in America.  I don't like it but there it is.
Word.  I think he could've some more substance in without it getting dry and boring, though.

I think a white candidate with a normal name with a similar amount of experience and charisma would be doing 5 points better, maybe more.

How is Obama anti-Israel?

Do they really think they're helping Obama?  Good God.
6  Election Archive / 2008 Elections / Re: Who *isn't* rooting for the person they voted for? on: October 30, 2008, 03:57:18 pm
I'm rooting for McCain deep down, but I just couldn't bring myself to vote for him.
Why would a 'true Democrat' support McCain over Obama?

Kickass thread.

I've actually never thought of that, but I think you might be right!

Obama by 6-8 points.

I didn't know that!  But it looks like it'll probably be wrong this time.
