To even compare it Iraq and Afghanistan is dishonest and asinine...
You're right, to try to downplay Libya by comparing it to Iraq and Afghanistan, or any other conflict that wasn't solely unilateral, is dishonest. I don't understand your point. Neither Iraq, Afghanistan, nor Libya was solely unilateral. We had broad international support (at least among NATO and "Western" countries) for Afghanistan and Libya, and much less, but still some, in Iraq. The relevant point is that 0 Americans died for Libyan freedom (or "freedom"), while thousands of Americans died for Iraqi and Afghan "freedom." Not that kind of unilateral, domestically unilateral without any respect for the War Powers Resolution. The relevant point is that the President declared a unilateral war w/out Congress I see if it's a war that a few hundred rich white men approve of while BILLIONS of people around the world protest against it is okay. But if BILLIONS of people around the world agree with the war but you don't seek the approval of a few hundred rich white men then it is a travesty?! Please provide your source for "billions of people around the world" agreeing with the bombing of Libya. I don't know about billions, but the Libyan revolutionaries wanted it, and overall it was widely viewed as a humanitarian necessity, considering how Gaddafy Duck's troops were closing in on Benghazi, and there was a pretty reasonable chance that the city would be in flames if it fell to the forces that flew the world's most original flag.

You know, if we lose this election, maybe we really ought to consider working across the aisle to form a cordon sanitaire around the Paulite/Libertarian movement.
Have fun allying yourself with such mainstream anti-libertarians as Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee. That ought to be the key to restoring Republican majorities, even as demographics indicate that the future of the Republican Party resembles Ron Paul more than the theocons and neocons would like to admit. Not a big fan of Huckabee, but the youth vote is not necessarily a good indicator of future party voting behavior. After all, after young voters rallied behind McCarthy and propelled McGovern to victory, these same Democrats would later rally behind Mr. "Bombs in Bosnia" Clinton and Mr. "Kill List" Obama. That's what happens when we have a society that labels certain ideologies as silly things that only immature non-"grown up" people believe in.

All Ron Paul supporters should be voting for Romney, otherwise, they are simply throwing their votes away.
They'd be throwing their vote away by voting for an anti-freedom HP like Romney. Seriously, libertarians supporting Romney because he's the "lesser of two evils" is ridiculous. He wants to bomb Iran just as much if not more than Obama, he has actually spoken out against medical marijuana IIRC, and he opposes same-sex marriage. And he's a massive supporter of the crusader state of Israel and it's brutalism (Obama at least seems a bit unenthusiastic). The lesser of two evils is still evil, and by voting for Romney (or Obama) you're basically saying you're okay with the kind of crap they support. The "lesser of two evils" fallacy is a perversion of liberal democracy (which is a perversion of democracy itself, but that's aside the point).

Support his exact political orientation or not, Humphrey was a good guy. He took courageous stands on issues like civil rights and opposing Communism. And he served in public office with honor and integrity. Hell, I'm pretty sure I would have voted for Humphrey in '68 as well.
He's got my vote.
