Such a ticket would turn out the women and Hispanics in droves and combined with Obama campaigning also the Blacks and Asians.
I don't see how Christie would win here, because in 4 years nobody cares about Sandy anymore and his approvals will probably be around 50% again.
Sure, but they wouldnt all be voting Dem with a female Hispanic VP candidate with charisma and a compassionate image. Hillarys popularity will be down too. And let's not forget that Hillary was a divisive figure in 2008. Moreover, she's an establishment type candidate and Christie could perfectly lead a populist "anti-establishment" campaign.

Hello guys. How will the 2016 elections if the candidates are:
Republicans: - Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie - U.S. Ambassador to China and Governor of Utah Jon Huntsman - Senator Marco Rubio from Florida - Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky - Senator John Thune from South Dakota - Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton from Maryland - U.S. Representative Allen West from Florida - Businessman Herman Cain from Georgia - Governor of Mississippi Haley Barbour - Political consultant Fred Karger of California
Democrats: - Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo - Governor of Maryland Martin O'Malley - Governor of Montana Brian Schweitzer - Senator Al Franken from Minnesota - U.S. Representative Denis Kucinich from Ohio - Former U.S. Representative from Tennessee Harold Ford Jr from New York - Senator and Former Governor of Virginia Mark Warner - Former Senator Russ Feingold from Wisconsin - Governor of Massassuchetts Deval Patrick
I do assume here of course that Barack Obama wins the 2012 Elections.
Who is the most likely to win Iowa? New Hampshire? South Carolina? Florida? Who might win the primaries? Who will drop out first? Who will gain the major endorsements?

Election Archive / 2012 Elections / Re: Why I think John Thune is the GOP's best chance in 2012

Thune has been pretty successful in South Dakota politics, serving three terms in the House and is probably going to win re-election in the Senate with ease this year. He has charm, charisma and he's family-oriented.
For those of you that see my posts, you know I'm a moderate, "RINO" I suppose. That being said, I would strongly support Thune for 2012.
1) He comes from an outside state, SD, which could serve as an advantage, similar to Carter (GA) in 1976.
2) He has the conservative establishment behind him
3) He doesn't come across as one of those ignorant types. For example, he's said that while he is strongly pro life and against gay marriage, he understands and RESPECTS the other side's opinion. The tolerance factor I like.
4) He's a very good speaker and doesn't make gaffes.
5) From what I read, his record is clean. There is no dirty work on him, which is an advantage.
6) His location in the Plains/Midwest could be an advantage to the GOP, which is rtying to still break into the upper midwest (although we got IA back in 2004
7) He's got charisma.
While the cupboard appears bare, I think this is our man for 2012, or maybe 2016, if he feels 2012 becomes unwinnable depending on the economy in the next two years.
I actually did a project on a fake 2012 election with Thune as the GOP nominee. I agree with all of your reasons. Your analysis is spot on. where's the link?

No state north of the Mason-Dixon is voting Huckabee
If you take a look at some polls from 2008, Huckabee was the most competitive Republican (after McCain) in the Rush Belt. He was competitive although he wasn't well known among americans. In this area, Obama's elitism may not fit among the working class. Mike Huckabee shares their values and will b very popular there

Could Daniels help Palin in this case?Discuss
NOTHING could help Palin an ANY case. Being a mom and having a teenager with a baby, a son in Iraq, and a husband who was a teamster connects with alot of voters. I agree with Derek. Seriously Americans are angry and the Left which his helped by the medias want to kill Palin politically. It's the same thing with Huckabee who can possibly beat Obama if the election was today ...
