Kerry, in a landslide. There are way too many Kerry signs and bumper stickers around my region that went 70% for Bush in 2000. In fact, I have never seen ANY stickers and signs for a Democratic Presidential candidate around here and the Bush supporters keep stealing the Kerry signs too! Our local Democratic HQ had a brick thrown through it's front window as well. I have been here for thirty years and have never seen anything like this.

Vorlon is great. When I first posted here he warmly welcomed me and even asked me for my thoughts about the race in Michigan. I appreciated that. I don't post here often because I am usually here to look at all the fascinating information but I do look at the forum from time to time. As proof of his impartiality I recall earlier in the year Vorlon had Kerry ahead in his electoral collage prediction.

I believe that Tom Brady is also a Bush supporter. He was Laura Bush's guest at the 2004 SOTU address.
Yes, this is true. Brady is a Republican. I found that amusing because he went to the liberal University of Michigan. I wonder if the PC goons there turned him Republican or maybe he always was.

I voted for Steve Forbes in the 1996 Republican Presidential Primary and in 2000 I voted for McCain. I might have even voted for McCain. I didn't agree with him on all issues but at least I have much more respect for him much than I ever have had for a Republican...unless we go back the first Roosevelt!

I found out about this game though this site and have been addicted ever since! My best game was playing 2004 as Al Sharpton and winning something like 360 electoral votes (including Texas!) I won by throwing two scandals at Bush who tried doing it to me but mine were much more powerful (He started the mud slinging!) I have also won big as McGovern by throwing lots of mud back at Nixon. My favorite is 1980 because it is so challenging to win as Carter and I never play with dynamism. I had an awesome game last week where I was over 400 electoral votes as Carter and the game crashed! I think out of playing Carter in 1980 about 100 times I have won maybe a dozen times and came very close several times. I also like 1968. I can beat Nixon one on one (as Humphrey) but with Wallace I can get the most electoral votes but rarely do I get a majority. Thank God my wife has a good sense of humor about this!

You should vote for Kerry because he will bring back the surplus which was Clinton's achievement and which Bush squandered. Isn't it ironic that the ONLY President since I don't know when that has had not just a balanced budget but a SURPLUS is a Democrat? What has become of the Republican's claim of fiscal responsibility?

Clearly my Missouri idea isn't exactly popular. In that case forget about it along with Ohio and Florida and go after the Gore states plus Nevada and West Virginia. Anyway, it's fun to think up majorities while leaving Ohio and Florida in the Blue column.

If Kerry wins, Missouri might get it wrong for only the second time. I would concentrate on Ohio and Florida. I mean it would be insane not to. Especially, Florida. I know it sounds wild but I think it would be better to combine the resources intended for Florida and Ohio and utilize them into a great big push in Missouri. I think Kerry has an excellent chance of retaining the Gore states because he does not have to deal with the baggage of the Clinton scandals the way Gore did (I really believe that cost him the election) so if Gore could win those states despite that then Kerry can too.

Last November I was looking at an online article on the Gallup website and it said that the vast majority of Americans (80% I think) don't know who Ann Coulter is. She had a favorable rating of about 12% and her unfavorable rating was slightly lower. I am trying to get the article but they won't let me see it unless I sign up for a membership...Well, I'll just go by the article description. Rush had a 51% disapproval rating compared to 34% approval and Al Franken numbers were almost as bad and probably would have been worse if more people would have known who he was. I did buy Al Franken's book attacking Rush when it first came out (which wasn't that funny) and then Al turned into the left version of Rush...not what this country needs right now and I will never again give one cent of my money to anyone who gets rich by exploiting political differences. Certainly they have their choir that they preach to but I will not be one of them. I can make up my own mind.

I recall watching the episode of A&E's Biography on Goldwater. One of the more recent clips had him responding to the question of how he would've handled Vietnam and he said "Well, North Vietnam would've been a swamp" My personal favorite Goldwater quote "This is a country where anyone can grow up to be President...except me"
