Don't be crazy, Israel would never be a state! Then they'd only get 2 senators.
hahaha

nicely done

Didn't he try to do this to Huckabee 4 years ago?
3  Election Archive / 2012 U.S. Presidential Primary Election Polls / Re: FL PrimR: Rasmussen: Momentum for Romney on: January 26, 2012, 12:44:28 pm
Hopefully as Newt's ads(the 6 million dollar buy from his Super PAC) get more play the numbers will change, but I think the debate tonight could be crucial.

8  Other Elections - Analysis and Discussion / International Elections / Re: Russian electoral type event: 2011 (Duma) on: December 06, 2011, 06:57:57 pm
I found this gem on RIA Novosti's page about the result in Chechnya particularly endearing:

With a 99.5 percent voter turnout at 456 polling stations, United Russia received support of 607,909 voters in Chechnya.

This is just amazing!

In Canada these days if you can get 50% of the voters out it is a really big deal.

So to be able to get a 99.5% voter turnout is really pretty incredible.

I congratulate all of the voters of Chechnya for their support of the Russian election.

It would make for an interesting RIA Novosti article to learn why the Chechnyains are so passionate about their right to vote.

It is inspiring to see so many people in Chechnya supporting their democratic freedom to vote.

Even more interesting that 99.6% of the vote went to the United Russia party. Normally there is more of a variation in how people vote.

Sounds like satire to me, but if not...
9  Election Archive / 2012 Elections / Is it crazy to think that Newt would do better against Obama than Romney? on: December 02, 2011, 11:00:59 am
I think Gingrich has a better shot against Obama than Romney does. Romney is wooden, bad at interviews and struggles when challenged with his flip-flops. Obama's campaign will destroy him if he's the nominee. And his campaign in the primaries hasn't been inspiring to say the least. At least Newt will be able to carve out contrasts with the President where Romney can't.

Am I the only one who thinks this?
10  Election Archive / 2012 Elections / Re: Any "sleeper" states that you think Romney could surprise in the general? on: December 02, 2011, 10:55:28 am
Michigan would be the state with the biggest chance of that happening I think.
11  Other Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Congressional Elections / Re: who will win - MA on: November 30, 2011, 07:28:18 pm
Elizabeth Warren.
12  Election Archive / 2012 Elections / Re: A credible Progressive third party candidate emerges on: November 30, 2011, 07:23:29 pm
I wouldn't be all that surprised if Romney or his people had some role in this.
13  Election Archive / 2012 Elections / Re: Endorsements of John McCain, George W. Bush, Bob Dole and George H.W. Bush... on: November 27, 2011, 07:37:20 pm
Palin will endorse whoever is the last standing anti-Romney, so probably Gingrich.

I don't think the others endorse, but if they do it's Romney (other than McCain).

Iowa Senate Distric 18 is now fully counted:

55.8% - Liz Mathis (D)
43.5% - Cindy Golding (R)

PPP said 52-46 for Mathis.

Democrats retain control of the Iowa Senate.
This and Pearce are icing on the cake to what is, overall, a pretty great night.
