Welp, looks like even less votes than we thought are actually being counted in this election. 68 votes, folks. 51% of Atlasians voted. That's half of all registered voters. My vote wasn't even counted because of some outdated requirement at a time when we should be trying to include, not exclude, and encourage as many votes as we can. If we don't start pushing some serious efforts to change as soon as possible, Atlasia as we know it will die. If it comes to that, I won't hesitate to support revolution.

Of course Labor members should vote for Labor members but between Tweed and Napoleon I feel like there's the potential for a major Labor Left-Labor Right split that I'd really like to avoid.

Absolutely. The left already has three candidates, and there's sure to be one or two more at this rate. If the right were to unite behind one well known user, they could blow us away. I'm afraid that this Senate election might be foreshadowing June.

I've yet to decide on a single candidate to support and/or endorse as I like bits and pieces of everyone's platform. After a few weeks, I suppose I'll stick with a single candidate.

Article II Section 9 is hereby amended as:

9. The Governor is obligated to present the Legislative Assembly a budget for their term.  The structure and procedure for the budget process are to be determined by law. The budget of all government activities is to be voted on by the Assembly after a normal debate period. The Governor is obligated to ensure that the budget does not provide for any deficits excepting times of emergency or war, a condition the Legislative Assembly must successfully endorse.  All budgets must include a plan for revenue and taxation.

Even if some of us consider our party composed of "real left wingers" because our political ideology is a bit different than that of the Liberal Party, such a slogan would divide and confuse the fine workers of Atlasia to an unnecessary level, when there are much bigger issues which could be addressed in a slogan. Not to mention, such an action grants legitimacy to other, more unified groups which all of us would like to see defeated.

We'll be laughing pretty hard at this poll in a few years, I'm sure.

Good question. If this was a month or two ago, I'd say Gingrich, easily. But with the changing political landscape, I think Romney will win the majority of his supporters simply because of his inevitability and delegate numbers.

There's not much point in running a campaign to the left of Obama when the GOP is practically a lock to retain the House and is favored to retake the Senate.

If Romney wants to actually get elected, picking a VP that won't 'overshadow' him can't be his top concern. The fact of it is, is that more people will want to vote for Romney if Rubio or Christie is his running mate than Portman. Republicans are already unenthusiastic enough about their inevitable candidate, might as well give him a VP to increase turnout.

I think Bachmann told more blatant lies than Santorum, but out of candidates who are still in the race, it's a close call between Romney and Frothy. Not that any of our candidates are exempt from lying, but geez. This particular election cycle is pretty bad.

Now, he doesn't seem interested in running for a third party like Roemer did, but this is very interesting coming from a plausible future GOP contender.
