1  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Re: Confirmation Hearing: TyriontheImperialist for Vice President (Confirmed) on: August 29, 2014, 10:29:04 am
This is all very..interesting.  I certainly wouldn't have tried to break the tie if I were PPT but what's done is done.  Good luck, at least you're all making it interesting.
2  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: Keaton House Polling: October 2014 Presidential on: August 27, 2014, 10:25:53 pm
Whichever one is crazy enough to put me back in charge of the Senate I suppose.

Thanks for the mention.  Of course this is all pretty funny, and typical to me.  Good luck.
5  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: Office of VP Windjammer (Goodbye) on: August 13, 2014, 07:54:01 am
I thought you weren't resigning?  In any case, I appreciate your vision for the office.  You did try.
6  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: The Political Tracker - Cabinet Poll on: July 07, 2014, 11:47:11 pm
This is probably the best cabinet in my time here, yet these are by far the worst numbers I have seen.

And yet, with the exception of Lumine's questions in the confirmation threads, none of the critics have voiced a concern. Go figure.

Oddly, the only one I have a problem with is the only one without a confirmation thread.  Go figure.
7  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Re: SENATE BILL: Ukrainian Technical, Economical and Military Aid (Debating) on: July 07, 2014, 03:23:10 pm
So I shall break the tie:

Seriously, I'm saddened to see that 4 senators missed the vote. Well, this is a problem with communication I guess. You were probably unaware there was a vote.
So, first reform I will do: I will PM all of you when I will open a vote!

The topic title was not updated when Cincy opened the vote, that is why it was missed by so many people.

PMs will probably be necessary, especailly where bills where we cannot update the thread topic titles between us like this one started by Cincy (Cincy seems to be rather detached, his response to my last PM was that he was retired adn something about his lawn).

I used to send out PMs, rather sadistic and creepy ones to get people's attention. People began to not appreciate them and even grumple about them and twoards the end of last year once Gass, Nappy and Xahar had left, it didn't appear to be necessary as people were voting rather regularly and so I stopped. I should have started again in March.

Send me a PM with what the titles need to be changed to and I'll do it, when I actually see it.  Other than that, I have no ability to do anything for you in an official capacity.  Amendment votes are on windjammer now.
8  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Re: 62st Senate PPT declaration Thread on: July 07, 2014, 02:48:34 pm
You can't put him as a declared candidate when you write the ballot but that doesn't prevent supporters from writing him in as far as precedent is concerned.
9  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Re: Pacific Stimulus: Allocations for July on: July 06, 2014, 01:45:58 pm
In all seriousness though, I fully intend to jump at every window of opportunity I find to wet my beak.  Pork is something I tend to evolve on, but since the Pacific is getting all these stimulus packages every few months, well, it's only fair. Wink

Listen, if anything, the Northeast has been severely mistreated when it comes to allocating funds to regions.  Just saying, I'll fight you for them Tongue
10  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Pacific Stimulus: Allocations for July on: July 03, 2014, 08:58:24 pm
1. The Pacific shall receive a stimulus in 2014 consisting of 4 packages totaling $85 billion, one each on the thirty-first of January and the firsts of April, July, and October.

The subsequent 3 packages shall be for amounts of $15 billion, $10 billion, and $10 billion, respectively

$10 billion to allocate Gentleman.  My going away reminder.  Good luck.

Once again Atlas shows how emotionally immature its users are.  How is your girlfriends relationship with her Father?  If it's a good one you don't disrespect the father if it would be culturally impaired of you to do so.  Just don't.  Besides, if you're really lucky the old man might give you a grandmothers ring for the deed.

I will be officially stepping down this friday.  Unless anyone raises an objection to Polnut and oakvale as Chair, and Vice Chair, respectively, they will immediately assume the roles.

Amendment 61:62 has been adopted without objection.

The Constitutional Convention Re-clarification Amendment

Article VII Section 2 of the Third Atlasian Constitution is hereby amended to read:

1. Upon application of a majority of citizens in a majority of the Regions, the President, with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall call a Constitutional Convention to amend or replace this Constitution. The Convention shall be constituted under regulations determined by the Senate. Such amendments or the replacement proposed by the Convention shall become operative when ratified by two-thirds of the Convention and the citizens of three-quarters of the Regions, in a public poll administered by the Governor or other officer as Regional Law may provide. All public polls mandated under this section shall be via public post and shall last for exactly one week.

2. The phrase ďa majority of citizensĒ refers to the number of signatures needed from the citizens of an individual Region and shall be defined as a majority of the citizens of a Region and shall not be construed to refer to a majority of citizens nationwide, nor a majority of voting citizens of a Region.

3. ďA majority of regionsĒ shall be defined as a majority of the Regions of the Republic of Atlasia.

Ok, I'm throwing out Griffin's amendment, and I'm going to interpret bore's deference, and Griffin's subsequent silence, as friendly feedback to Tyrion's amendment.

18  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: North Star Polls - Best President Since 2012 on: June 26, 2014, 07:36:05 am
Polnut, Duke and Nix in no particular order. All there was exemplary Presidents. The standard of the rest was far lower, unfortunately. It's hard for me to choose one.

As usual, this is the correct answer.
19  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: Coalition for the Protection of Gun Rights (CPGR)- Poll on: June 26, 2014, 07:29:55 am
Any member of this organization will not be getting a vote from me in any election.

I wouldn't go that far, but I would have some serious second thoughts. We have clip limits, a national licensing system for firearms, and a requirement that owners of weapons carry liability insurance. These regulations save lives and I do not want to see them threatened for the sake of someone's Rambo fantasy.

I agree with this, but I do support the creation of this group, despite the motives of it.  If anything, as Barnes said, it would be nice to see these advocacy groups actually create a stronger focus on issues, and possibly facilitate more competition.
20  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: Lumine's Election and Political Tracker (Election Night) on: June 23, 2014, 04:45:12 pm
The PPT does not get to make up the rules as he goes along.

Honestly, TNF would not be my first pick from the Labor delegation to run for the position because his talents are better suited to a different focus. But the prospect of him serving as PPT shouldn't terrify anyone who understands how the Senate works.

I know that we've had someone to hold our hands for the past three years so that none of the rest of us need to bother thinking about the Senate's rules, but they're not that hard to read and they've been written to prevent abuse.

Senate procedure shouldn't take anyone that isn't mentally deficient long to have a workable understanding of it.  That being said, there are ways in which the written procedure allows some avenue for partisan abuse, if those that manage the procedure understand it well enough.  Obviously, the position people should be worried about is Vice President, because I could have certainly abused the Senate a lot more and it would have been lawful to do so.
