It's so sad to see some people acting like such dopes these days. As for TPP, it's really a disservice to Nix, Cinci and I to say we never made TPP relevant considering cinci and I founded and built the original party and orchestrated its takeover of the senate.

But at this point I'm used to getting unwarranted disrespect from a lot of people that I thought were friends. That's life. Tongue

Yeah. I don't care at all about anything else said except for that backhanded comment. Oh well. Bridges burned. I'm over it.

No, increase his powers. A ticket is important for everything that is gameplay related because it strongly encourages multipartism.

No, you're the enemy. Duke is the one betraying us. Smiley

You just never could accept that TPP wasn't an uber-right-wing outfit.

Well part of that is because of the way Duke and Cincy sold it to former RPP members in 2012. Tongue And if Duke's original plan had come to fruition, TPP would have been far more Conservative than it ended up being. The formation of the Federalists is what prevented that from happening.

In a way yes. But it was never meant to be aligned he way Simfan has pushed for since he's been a member. That being said regardless of Griffins outbursts, policy positions, and so forth, he's the better choice considering the situation were in.  The other candidates have their strengths, and having homely as a VP pick sits well with me considering my history with him, but I agree with Griffins vision and it's more inline with what duke and I have been a proponent of from the start (Even if I don't agree with the entirety of it).

"Let's hope this Senate thing works out"

I can almost taste the low energy. TPP is a shell of its former glory.

Remind me who you are again?
11  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: Office of Governor pikachu (Let's hope this Senate thing works out) on: October 04, 2015, 10:58:51 pm
As I already told you Good Luck.  Endorsed.
12  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: Constitutional Convention - Commentary thread. on: October 02, 2015, 02:23:31 pm
I assume this will be a lost cause since it's utterly dominated by ultra-conservatives (in the 'game reform' sense) of various affiliations like Yankee, Kalwejt, PiT, CLASSIC CONSERVATIVE, various Labor zombies etc etc etc but I will try my utmost to represent the people shut out of the convention by the undemocratic Senate.

It could come together but I wonder if the veterans that are involved will be able to compensate for the newer people who haven't seen all the failed reforms and debates over the past few years.  Of course it might help having a bunch of new people instead of a lot more of the Nay first crowd that's been around here forever.

Sure why not,

14  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: Candidate Declaration Thread on: September 27, 2015, 01:21:25 pm
I was elected in July, so I should have been reelected in September. If I screwed up my math somewhere and should be up for reelection to the Assembly, then yeah, also running for that.

I'm pretty sure you can't run for both Assemblyman and Governor simultaneously.

Unless you guys enacted some law against this while I was away I'm pretty sure this is not true. It's happened many times before.
15  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Re: Partisan selection of delegates for Constitutional Convention. on: September 26, 2015, 10:19:58 am
I really do hope The People's Party isn't locked out of the convention due to a deadline error. Let's give this thing some legitimacy.

Hopefully we're not beyond that by now but we handled this entire process pretty poorly.

17  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Re: Resolution for Peaceful Coexistence (Debating) on: September 12, 2015, 01:38:01 am
Personally I don't think we should take anything off the table with respect to engaging the other side. They've already proven to be an organically-hostile force toward us.

I agree that this resolution indicates a willingness to eliminate future policy options despite my complete support for coexistence. And again, is punishment being left to interpretation and court procedure?
18  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Re: Resolution for Peaceful Coexistence (Debating) on: September 11, 2015, 10:49:35 pm
What kind of punishment are we actually thinking here?  Just wondering?
19  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: Mock Parliament Diplomacy on: September 02, 2015, 11:21:22 pm
The "diplomacy" in Atlasia, existing as it does in a vacuum, has been in every respect a massive failure. At its best our foreign policy consisted of the SoEA writing fanfic about his heroic efforts on behalf of Middle East peace.

Yes, but having a second playable country is not the same as existing in a vacuum. Very few actually advocated that.

This is an interesting idea however, which was proposed or, at least, thrown around in the past.  Obviously the details on what's happening outside of our two countries, implications of foreign policy between our two countries, and other future problems we don't currently foresee exist.  While foreign policy, simulated by GM/SOEA hasn't really achieved any significant impact on the game, I question whether diplomacy between Mock Parliament and Atlasia is enough without outside, simulated, circumstances.  I am however, completely on board with game-to-game diplomacy.
20  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Re: The Simfan Plan for a new constitution on: September 02, 2015, 11:13:54 pm
I agree with this in theory. I've been trying to push this since I ran for president in 2013. I'm confident whoever the next president is will at least be open to listening to this idea, whereas people torched me in 2013 for daring to suggest such a change. "Atlasia is fine!" They said.

We were ahead of our time Duke, far ahead of our time Tongue
21  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Re: The "Why Can't I Hold All These Offices?" Amendment on: August 25, 2015, 07:49:23 pm
I am reluctant to set a hard limit, given the extent to which this changes. I would prefer to tie it to the number of voters in the last election, say. That does carry its own set of difficulties, however.

I'm reluctant to legislate the regional governments like this at all.

I, Cincinnatus, do solemnly affirm that I will faithfully execute the office of Vice President of The Republic of Atlasia, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the Republic of Atlasia, so help me Dave.
24  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Re: Vice Presidential Election Amendment (Debating) on: August 21, 2015, 12:55:24 pm
This fits the Duke plan like a fing Glove just saying. Tongue VP acts as liason between the Senate PPT, House speaker and President. He could preside over any joint sessions, handle the elections of officers of both chambers, confirmation hearings in the Senate and even control emergency slots in both chambers. The opportunities are endless.

I totally agree with you, but obviously passing any major reform plan is the obstacle.
25  Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Re: Cabinet Reorganization Act of 2015 on: August 20, 2015, 02:53:46 pm
I agree with the President, in that, if we're going to restructure the cabinet we need to reduce the number of offices.  Beyond that, I think the cabinet needs to be more flexible moving forward because cabinet restructuring has always been an on-going concern back and forth.

We should make it even easier to fill these offices and/or easier to delegate and consolidate the duties of offices to another without debating the merits of adding or removing offices, but adapting to cycles of activity within the game.
