This convention makes me want to be a Democrat. It's impossible in real life, but for the first time this campaign I'm really tempted to sport a red avatar.

Come on in buddy!

One of the best speeches yet! It puts all the speakers at the RNC to shame. Who they have? Charles in Charge and the entire cast of Duck Dynasty? Lol.

Hillary has been nominated? YESSSS!! REDEMPTION. REDEMPTION. The 2008 humiliation has been redeemed! That chapter is now, finally, closed. Now if she wins in November, it will be a life lesson in perseverance writ large in history. Smiley

Doesn't all the chicken littling seem ridiculous now? Tongue

Of course, I'll probably join you in chicken littling if Trump still holds a lead in a month...

Count me in on the chicken littling Wink

What do you all think her bounce will be? I think it will be

Clinton +9 by this time next week.

14  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / 2016 U.S. Presidential Election / Re: Early Election 2016 Prediction: Donald Trump Wins! on: July 26, 2016, 01:43:36 pm
07.26.2016 | The bomb which hit about Wikileaks's unleashing of the corruption of the DNC e-mails, over the previous weekend, make it clear to me who will be the next president. When one looks at the national exit poll on Election Night, Republican Donald Trump will perform better holding same-party support…and winning over crossover self-identified Democratic voters. This will be capped off by Trump winning the independent vote. The guess, on this date, is just based on historical shift following a two-term president. Whether or not it's a third term for the incumbent party, or a pickup for the opposition party, the national shift (from the previous cycle) tends to be not modest (for re-elected incumbents) but dramatic.

Lol

17  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / 2016 U.S. Presidential Election / Re: Grade Night One of the DNC on: July 25, 2016, 11:25:50 pm
A-

It started off rocky but it picked up due to strong speeches from Ben Jealous,Cory Booker,Michelle Obama, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

The tone was positive and hopeful unlike the RNC which was doom and gloom.

God if only Bernie were 20 years younger. Seeing him run in 8 years would be something.

Bernie in 1996. He still looks the same lol

This is a very vengeful, borderline communist diatribe. Trump is going to get a boost whenever Chief Crazy Warren has a mic in front of her.

Donald? Is that you?
20  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / 2016 U.S. Presidential Election / Re: On a scale of 1-10, how much of a trainwreck was night one of the DNC? on: July 25, 2016, 09:40:43 pm
The real trainwreck is this thread.

23  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / 2016 U.S. Presidential Election / Re: Democratic National Convention **live commentary thread** on: July 25, 2016, 09:15:27 pm
Day 1 of the DNC started out bumpy but it picked up in the end. The speakers were amazing looking forward to Warren and Sanders tonight. Who did the RNC have? Scott Baio and the cast of Duck Dynasty lol.
24  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / 2016 U.S. Presidential Election / Re: Democratic National Convention **live commentary thread** on: July 25, 2016, 09:04:08 pm
Maybe the best speech of the night, but it misses out on the accolade of "good speech" because half the audience is talking and shouting over him.

Honestly, none of the highlights of this convention will play well because they will all be polluted by heckles.

I mean, I question whether Hillary will even be able to appear without immediately taking a hit in the polls.

Beet? Is that you ole buddy?
25  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / 2016 U.S. Presidential Election / Re: Democratic National Convention **live commentary thread** on: July 25, 2016, 08:11:38 pm
Goddamn it! I had to step out for a moment and I missed Franken's speech.
