How is Lenin losing?
My feelings exactly, especially considering how many people on here are big lovers of Eugene Debs. Anyway, if it's a US election, Thatcher/Thatcher. If it's a global one, Thatcher/Lenin. the crazy thing is, Lenin's actually winning. Must be all them Eugene Debs lovers

"UKIP candidate Otto Inglis". So their candidate is called English and has a German first name... Apart from having a silly name he sounds like a complete idiot: "There is a cultural struggle between on the one hand libertarians & conservatives and on the other the Frankfurt school Marxist left, which in the name of equality is intent on erasing everything that went before". LOL

nice enough rack. face like a horse, though.
only a few men can pull off Bismarck's mustache. that and the cool hat is why I went with FF.
Yeah, there had to be many shallow votes for Otto to get that high. You can call him many things, FF aint one of them. You got no taste in women btw, but thats no surprise.

On a serious note:
Peace Corps is a longshot. Development work in general may not be. There is a huge demand for IT knowledge in many developing countries. If you upgraded your minor to a major in computer science getting hired by a development organisation is probably not an unrealistic goal. If you can get your weight problem under control (not necessarily slim, just down to a level where they wouldn't consider it a risk factor).
I just think you need to be realistic about your skill level. E-commerce was an expensive and time consuming mistake, but you gotta leave that behind you and focus on getting a degree in an internationally recognized subject that's actually useful in third world countries. Computer science is your best (fastest) bid.

No... I think you're misunderstanding. What you're talking about is that they're now upgrading all of their existing civil unions to marriages.
And now, when a same-sex couple wants to marry, the notaries are mandated by law to do so.
Dont try to tell me what I am talking about buddy. I was interpreting Batmacundas post where he referred to the 2011 de facto legalization via stable relationships.

How is it a more time-consuming and cumbersome path?
As I had put in an other thread, SSM is legalized since the 2011 supreme court rule about civil partnerships. The problem was that some notaries were refusing to sign the papers, saying that they were not obliged to do it. Now they are . Okay, so is it still just the indirect route via upgrading of 'stable relationships' and not full marriage equality with the same terms as straight couples? This. Check out Batmacumbas link for details. To MaxQue: We will have to wait for Batmacumba or another Brazilian to clarify this, but as I understand it the change is simply that the notaries now have to upgrade gay stable relationships, not that gays can marry without a prior "stable relationship" like straight couples.

What makes you think this isn't full marriage equality? 100% equality means that the same rules apply. So if gays have to follow a more cumbersome and time consuming path its not "full" equality even though the end result has the same legal status.

well i suppose english is my primary ancestry. but most of my family has been in america since the 1700s. it is hard to consider myself anything but 'american.'
most white southerners fall into that category.
It was "weird" because you didn't write American but White American, which is an ethnic label and not a nationality. It may not be technically correct as far as a nationality, but it fits Waltermitty perfectly. Sure. He just missed drj's joke and started talking about his ancestry, even after I explained the point to him. At this point it should have been obvious: Why wouldn't one be able to grow a beard? What sort of weird nationality are you?
white american That is a pretty weird nationality.american is a weird nationality? White American is.

LOL@: - France seeing itself as the most arrogant. Well, France also sees itself as the least arrogant! Actually all countries except Italy and the Czech Repuplicz see themselves as the least arrogant. Greece is viewing itself as most trustworthy while every other country thinks its Germany

Its a surprisingly good score for a guy that served an authoritarian, repressive regime and started three wars of aggression-
Instituting a modern welfare system wasn't too bad. Nah, but can that really make up for all the other stuff: Kulturkampf against the Catholics, forced Germanization of minorities, secret police, the anti-Socialist laws. Even if you don't count the wars its hard to put him on the side of freedom.
