RI-Gov: Chafee will not run for reelection

Hoping Angel Taveras gets in. I like Raimondo, but I'd prefer a more economically liberal candidate.

The main problem Chafee had and all future Governors will have is that Rhode Island's economy is f**cked, and there's really not much anyone can do about it short of annexation by Massachusetts or Connecticut.

Providence Mayor Angel Taveras (D) is officially running.

Cranston Mayor Alan Fung (R) will likely announce his candidacy on November 4th.


EDIT: There is also a new name for consideration in the Democratic primary: Clay Pell,  former Deputy Assistant Secretary for International and Foreign Language Education and grandson of the legendary Claiborne Pell.
