Debates only help Trump, especially if he has someone to attack like Megyn Kelly. How could skipping this debate help his chances in Iowa? Could it possibly show that he isn't really serious about actually winning and will cede Iowa for someone else to gain momentum?
I will admit:
1. He has said things like this in the past and he will probably take part in the debate; and
2. This is a weird world we live in, where Trump has come out ahead after debates he was outclassed and where Ben Carson wins debates that he slept through, and maybe sitting out the debate somehow helps Trump...
