This thread shall be my office for my tenure as Governor of the Mideast.

With the unexpected resignation of Governor Tmthforu94, I have sworn in as Mideast Governor.  I wish Tmth the very best; he has been a great, longtime public servant, and the shoes I must fill are very big.

Governor Tmthforu94 began great work to revitalize the Mideast region, and I am committed to continuing this work.  

I welcome comments and suggestions on how I can be a better governor for the people of the Mideast.  The great Mideast has so much potential for further greatness.  Let us work to together to tap this potential!

As designated to me by the Mideast Constitution, I hereby appoint MadmanMotley to the position of Lt. Governor.  I direct the Assembly to start confirmation hearings.

I would like to thank the Assembly for confirming MadmanMotely as Lieutenant Governor of the Mideast.  MadmanMotely has the energy and skills needed in helping this great region reach its full potential, and I wholeheartedly congratulate him and welcome him to the administration.  He will be a great Lieutenant Governor.

I will be taking a leave of absence, lasting one week, starting tomorrow.  I have a few RL issues that need addressing, and regrettably, will be unable to execute my responsibilities as Governor of the Mideast for a week.  I have full confidence that Lt. Governor MadmanMotley will do a fine job as Acting Governor for the next week.

While I respect the concern for the people's safety, I have gathered further information on the necesity and risks of regional militias, and I cannot authorize any actions right now.  There are clear risks with the existence of such militias, and the current law enforcement structure seems to be sufficient.  In addition, there are questions regarding their legality.  While I won't disband the militia in the Mideast just yet, I must keep it under tight control to minimize risks.

I believe that the militia made the correct decision by disbanding.  Our legally established law enforcement is doing a great job keeping the people safe.

Has Crabcake (I keep in my thought and prayers) missed the 5 final votes in order to be removed from office?

As the new Assembly has been sworn in, I'd like to offer my congratulations to its members on getting elected.  New Canadaland, Harry S Truman, Hatman, JCL, and shua--I'm looking forward to working with all of you in serving the people of the Mideast, and making this great region even greater.

My office continues to be open for people to ask questions, and express comments and concerns.

I regret to announce that I must resign as Mideast Governor.  It is suddenly apparent that current, challenging RL issues need more focus I previously thought, and I must address them, and I am unable to fully serve the people of the Mideast as Governor.  I will also have to reduce my activity on the whole forum for now.  I wish the best of luck to Governor MadmanMotley in serving the Mideast, and I have full confidence that he will make this great region even greater.
