Is Josh22 planning on pulling a Hermit in this one?

I am no extreme Dixiecrat. I am a moderate southern conservative dixiecrat.

lol.  Are you also liberal too?  Smiley

Seriously though, as a member of the same party I don't necessarily agree with him on everything at all; I just believe that Regional rights should be much stronger than Federal Jurisdiction on most things social and economic.

As Jake says, an absent Senator is not worth our time.

With the recent try of the Senate to force NAFTA withdrawal, it was only the courageous Senators from the Southeast (WMS and StatesRights) and the Pacific that kept that crappy bill from coming to fruition.  An absent Senator would have hurt us most strongly in that fight.

Josh22 is also, as far as I can remember pretty far to States' left economically and is just as far right socially if more so.  For an economic conservative (libertarian) and a socially center-right person as myself, he would be poison to me.

I went through Josh's posts for the last six months and cobbled together at least some of his compass scores:

DateEcSoc
12/01/2005-0.47.29
08/01/2005-1.885.28
17/11/2004-6.382.72
14/11/2004-3.753.9
11/11/2004-4.121.18
05/08/2004-0.58
20/07/200415.75

So, I get a -2.29 Eco, 4.87 Soc. average rating for 7 tries.  Sure moves around though.  Smiley

I have to give credit to Sen. States Rights about that vote and acknowledge that his was the decisive vote. Thank you for that.
That being said, I think that I only agree with him in some economic issues and I'm convinced that there doesn't exist another member of the forum with whom I could disagree more in the issues.

That's fine.  I was only presenting what I thought was good about him, especially with the NAFTA thing and the problems I have with josh22.

He'll have to try and convince you to vote for him.  I don't do stuff like that for others.  Smiley

Hell of a choice in District 4 mind you, a pair of right social conservatives. Are there no Democrats running?

There are barely any Democrats in the Southeast/D4. Your best chance really is to hope that Htmldon runs, though you should be aware that he is in fact a real life Republican with a really blue avatar. He is, however, a member (and founder) of the Union Party, who seem reasonably sane.

I am actually a registered Democrat IRL (hence the red avatar) who just happens to resemble an old Dixiecrat.  Smiley

I've been urged to run for reelection (which I'd like to be in the senate again, but I don't think I'd have much of a chance).. How would you d4ers think about me running again.
For those of you who don't know, I'm one of the most prominent Atlasians, the first VP, a two-time PPT of the senate, a two-term senator, and I'm now serving as attorney general.  I ran for president once and came in 2nd out of 6 candidates.

Wewent over this a few months ago.  No one said you should run again. I would not vote for you over StatesRights and in the unlikely occurence that he did not run, I would run and vote for myself.

I feel likewise.

Dave

You needed to change your avatar to red, bro, in order to stand a chance there.  No swing voters, independents need to apply.  Tongue
This is what you get for not voting for the populist when you had the chance last time...
