Actually, yes it is, because it's multi-millionaire Mitt Romney saying it. It's probably not fair, but thems the breaks : politico:

Well, since Mitt didn't start out as a multi-millionaire, it seems reasonable that, at some point in his life, it was perform or get fired, at least in the early 1970's.  Likewise, he had to succeed at Bain Capital (and did) or watch the company go down the tubes.
