I was watching The Passion of the Christ and came to the part in which the Jewish crowd shouts to release Barabas and crucify Jesus. It looked like a tyranny by majority democracy being in action there. So how does Christianity see democracy?

I know very few people that favor pure democracy.  We could not have a ballot question that said, for example, "O. J. Simpson shall be sentenced to life imprisonment for murder."

Christianity has tended to support the regime of the day, if that regime is not openly hostile to it.  It's more a giving unto Caesar situation.
