Whatever happens, it won't be of that much importance.  Remember Quayle/Bentson 1988.

Biden is appeal to the base; Ryan is appealing to more people.

A lot of it is body language.

Biden is not doing well.  He looks angry, and goofy.

Surprisingly, I liked Ryan on foreign policy and Biden did better on the economy.

On style, Ryan looked more presidential.  Biden did his best Gore imitation.

Probably an edge to Ryan, but on style.

And I miss Jim Lehrer!!!

Erin Burnett CNN focus group in VA....calls it a tie

Biden was better at understanding average people.

Ryan was better for for vision.

Izixs, my numbers were wrong, and I corrected it.

CBS NEWS SNAP POLL of uncommitted voters: 50% Biden won; 31% Ryan; 19% tie”

Relatively good.  The poll was closer compared to CNN's after the last debate.

CNN Polls:

Is Biden qualified to be president if necessary?

Yes: 57%
No: 42%

Is Ryan qualified to be president if necessary?

Yes: 60%
No: 38%

Who expressed himself more clearly?

Ryan: 50%
Biden: 41%

Who spent more time attacking his opponent?

Biden: 70%
Ryan: 19%

Who was more likeable?

Ryan: 53%
Biden: 43%

Odd.

Not really.  The tipping point are the attack ads.  If Biden had been passionate about the issues, and not attacked, he would have won.

That said, I'd be surprised if this moves the polls.

I also expect Biden to be parodied on SNL.  Smiley

I think Biden definitely came off too aggressive, interrupted too much, and smiled too much. It's good that he was showing passion and being assertive, particularly as more questions were being directed at Ryan, but it's always a fine balance to strike with being assertive without being overbearing.

That's probably what's showing up in the CNN polls showing it a tie, because Biden had a better debate on substance.

I generally agree, but Biden lost it on foreign policy.  He was a lot better on the economy than I thought he'd be.  Had he tuned down the laughing, et c., I'd give it to him.

It is not what the undecided voters wanted.  He obviously drank Obama's Red Bull.  Smiley

NBC poll has given it to Ryan.

What are the numbers for the NBC Poll, JJ?

And is this an actual scientific poll?

I didn't get it, only hearing a report giving it to Ryan.
