For being in Congress for 18 years, he's still only 61. Depends on how much he wants to put himself through a race like this.
One interesting thing is that the 3rd class Senate seat in Wisconsin (the one that he has) has had an incumbent defeated for the past 98 years. The last incumbent in that seat to not loose re-election at some point was Paul Husting in 1917, when he died.
