Trust me Don, a bad relationship is far, far worse than none at all.

I do not presently have a girlfriend, a fact which I'm glad of. I hope to have one again eventually once I'm emotionally ready again.

Not really. Just a few hookups. Largely because basically every guy with a girlfriend ends up miserable at some point, and most later tell me that single people have more fun. And what Lewis says also applies.

It all depends on who you meet and how compatible you are.

Being single and being in a relationship both have their pros and cons. I'd recommend everyone try both for extended periods of time....there is nothing better than being in a good relationship but if you aren't satisfied with yourself as you are now then being with someone else isn't going to work out in the long run.

I know, but am I supposed to be happy being lonely for the rest of my life just to avoid a bad relationship?  This single person isn't having any fun at all, just lots of nights at his computer reviewing historical election returns Tongue

Reviewing historical election returns isn't fun? Smiley

In all seriousness though, the best way to meet people is to get involved in activities where people will share your values. Volunteer with a local non-profit whose goals and ideals you believe passionately in, or with the local political party.

This is an excellent way to meet someone who will share your values and thus you will be compatible with, plus women get to see you doing something you are passionate about and enthusiastic about, allowing you to project the more confident and self-assured side of your persona. That's the way to get yourself noticed in a positive way.

*boxes with air* I got a first date comin up this weekend, and I got a good feeling about it. Smiley

Im screwed. Tongue

Good luck. But yeah, coming into a date with expectations is usually a bad idea.

My status is still single.....but not to worry, I'm still fulfilled in more ways than one.
