Why do we require a higher standard for increasing space research spending than any other spending?

Beyond a certain point: I want to hold limits so that the program doesn't get bloated.

That seems like an incredibly low limit. That was less than our surplus (pre-Nixcome).

If you want to amend it, be my guest, I was writing it with the intent that you would have comments like that.

I gotchu Maxwell Tongue

Sorry, didn't mean to be overly critical. I really love the space program.

Research seems to be contained only in the solar system!

We should fund more studies of exoplanets, black holes, and deep space in general.

I also drastically changed the funding structure.

Hm, that seems reasonable.

Can we leave spending intact for the moon and terrestrial planets, instead of a decrease (pending Nix's numbers)?

I'd prefer the $20 billion number but I can accept $15 billion if it gets consensus support.

Tyrion are you game for splitting the amendment? IF yes, the old one becomes reduced to the hostile stuff so that a vote can be held on it immediatly without needing to wait another twenty four hours, whilst the new contains just the friendly elements, which are simultaneously put through the quick way (calling 24 hours on objections).

Yea, I'll split it up exactly how Maxwell has it.

I hope we can come to a compromise on the rest of it, meanwhile.

Alright. You're being reasonable about it, methinks.

I'll withdraw the amendment that Maxwell found hostile, and maintain the part that he found friendly, including striking Section 2, Clause 3.

I Purple heart Maxwell's amendments.

Are we ok with just maintaining a $15 billion per year rate? I am.

Perhaps a goal could be to examine the terraforming potential of both the moon and Mars in the next 200 years?

I am ready for a final vote, and I think Maxwell deserves to vote on his own legislation. I guess it doesn't matter what I think, anyway Tongue.
