Latinos outnumber whites for the first time this year in California

The Pew Research Center put up an article the other day citing the 2014/15 California budget released by the Governor that shows that by June/July this year, Latinos will outnumber whites by 0.2% in California. That means that Latinos will be 39% strong compared to 38.8% for the white population. Asians are also growing, to a record high 13%. The only two groups that are declining in percentages are whites and blacks, which has been the trend all along since 1990 and probably since even before that. Also, this way, California is to become only the third state to not have a white plurality or majority. Hawaii has (as of 2012) an Asian or Pacific Islander plurality that exceeds the white population by 23.3 percentage points, while New Mexico's latino population outnumbers that of white by 7.2 percentage point. Texas will probably get a latino plurality as well sometime around 2018 (although it greatly depends on the unstable birth rates).

In some countries, like in Norway, we don't talk about races at all, only ethnic groups.
