If I were in Congress I'd introduce a bill to ban these type of special elections. They are ridiculous and blatantly undemocratic.

It's not uncommon for Republicans in unwinnable seats to run crazy ads that the base loves and everyone else finds batsh**t insane (remember that black Republican in North Carolina in 2006 whose ads went viral?) It's another thing to do it in a special election in a previously held GOP seat.

I suppose the moral of the story here is the Republicans wised up when they all but dropped the Ryan budget plan.
