It doesn't translate well on a cell phone camera, you probably need special equipment to get an accurate pic. But it's very awesome. The whiteness instead of the pitch blackness of night is very nice looking, though not if you're an astronomer or stargazer. Also works better in rural areas, in the city there's too much light pollution and distractions around.

Well I imagine the folks in more southern areas don't ever have what looks like it due to the lack of snow.

Am I the only one who can envision those simply being poor pictures taken of a beautiful snowy Northern sky? Sad

Yeah as I admitted it doesn't work well on a cell phone camera. Snowguy's is much better.

Also serves as a nice contrast to the depressing as hell daytimes that are just white and dreary with the sun hard to see and everything white and bland. At night the sky is somewhat illuminated and it's actually lighter than summers, which is part of why winter nights can see kind of festive in Minnesota.
