define "loony left". I don't think it's loony to oppose fiddling with the Constitution over crap like gay marriage or the agenda of people like Robertson and Falwell.

Once again I ask, what do people propose, that the Democrats embrace Falwell and Robertson or what?

Most Americans are not "pro-choice"; an overwhelming majority are moderates and favour restrictions of some kind but not an outright ban. Most Americans are apalled by groups like NARAL.

Some examples would be nice. But I don't recall them telling Boxer to shut up

about what? She just votes liberal, doesn't make Santorum-esque comments.

Most Americans do not agree with the religious right agenda and are appalled by groups like the Christian Coalition too.

Scoonie has the right idea.

I'm not sure what exactly Al is suggesting.

jfern is out of touch.

All Republicans are even worse since their definition of "moving to the center" is simply becoming acceptable to the radicals like Robertson, Falwell and Moore.

I sincerely hope no one here actually believes Bush is a fiscal conservative.

Maybe not from your perspective, but then you *are* very liberal. Think about some of the stuff she's said from the point of view of ordinary working class voters.

Like what? The only really dumb thing from her I can think of is that earthquake gaffe, which is non-political and I can't think of anything that's the left wing equivalent of that nonsense Santorum says. And I can tell when a comment would not play well with working class voters, because I make them all the time.

People need to shut up about Zell Miller. No the party did not leave him. He went nuts and turned to far the far right. Look at this ratings the last years in the Senate. He got almost perfect ones from all the right wing nutjob PACs and consistently voted with Trent Lott and Rick Santorum. If getting people like him back is what the Democrats should do then we might as well have a one party system.

[troll]I forgot how many times I have said this and how many different boards I have said this on, but if the elitist Northern/Pacific Democrats want to keep ignoring what Southern/Midwestern Democrats want

Where do I live again?

Remember all the Republicans talking about how this thread made them happy and proof the "loony left" had taken over the Democrats and how they could never regain power?

Oh well.
