I'm going to try being straight edge for a week

Just because a lot here said I can't do it and then I have a problem. So I will.

Starting tomorrow and thus running through next Monday. I have a show next week on Tuesday so I'll be done before then. I also have a show on a Saturday but at a venue I tend not to drink at.

So here goes.

Well it's Friday night...and so far done and no problems.

Is this a roundabout way for you to “own” the Catholics by not drinking on St Patrick’s day? 5D BRTD Chess.

The only time I drink on St. Patrick's Day is if I'm going to a show, which I'm not this year.

And last year when I did I ordered an orange screwdriver.

I made it.

I wasn't that difficult, no serious withdrawal feelings or issues. Some mood swings but that can happen anyway.

So now I'm free to have fun at the show tonight.

So ever since I got back from Milwaukee on Sunday I've also been straight edge...I'm not even trying, just never got the urge to have a drink or take an edible. Something I realized today.

I'm not saying I'm going to commit to that full time or quit those altogether, like I'm not saying I won't drink at the next show I attend (although that's not until next week) but it's nice knowing there's no real dependency, and I can probably return to the way I was pre-Covid in terms of use of such things.
