I can only follow impressions, but South Dakota is supposed to be nothing but fields which doesn't sound very appealing.

Sioux Falls wouldn't be a terrible place to live. The state has a lot more barren land than actual fields though, at least the western part. The eastern part is kind of like the part of Minnesota that I live in (although it's not like my urban city of course). Either way anywhere outside of Sioux Falls would be boring as possible.

What about the sticks?

that depends on where it is exactly. I probably could live in a place like Le Seuer county, Minnesota since it's only about an hour's drive from the Twin Cities and would prefer that over a suburban hellhole county like Scott or Carver, but I couldn't live in some spot in the middle of Nebraska.

Uhh, NOT ME!!!  Have you ever been to Camden, NJ?  There aren't even parts of Pennsauken, a nearby suburb, that I would live in.

I went through it once, it obviously wasn't a great place but I would still take it over most Twin Cities suburbs. Also my friend lives there going to Rutgers and said he doesn't really mind it anymore.

Same way when all people were bashing DC I said that I found it not too bad place and would take it over any wealthy suburb. Suburbs can go to hell.

In response to something Bandit said a few pages back, Camden is one of the worst cities in the Mid Atlantic region. You do not want to live or even visit that city. Believe me. I can't believe ANYONE would say that Camden is a great city. Then again, Bandit said it so why am I surprised?

beats suburbia.

Do you think DC is a terrible city too?

for the record I live in the poorest, most diseased (in terms of STDs) and drug-ridden per capita city in Minnesota, and it was once ranked the 14th best small city in America to live in. This is still a very nice place.

I also say I'd take Camden over any Republican city. Camden has to be at least 85% Democrat. I consider Republicans a bigger problem than what Camden has.

What city is that?

Mankato

There isn't really a lot of crime though outside of the drug use, which the cops mostly look the other way about.

That's sad, BRTD. Really, really sad.

would you rather live in somewhere like Camden that's 85% Republican or a clean city that's 85% Democrat?

Their is no such thing as a large Democratic city that's clean or safe. Democrats are to soft on crime to be in power.

well, Camden at least has cheap housing. Judging from the stats I've found it's less than half the price of where I live.

Dude, Camden's a hellhole.

Handzus, Bullmoose...just give it up. It's useless with him. He likes it because it's heavily Dem. He obviously doesn't know Camden

I was in once for a short while and the parts I saw weren't too bad. There are worst parts of the city that I currently live in. And like I said, my friend going to Rutgers doesn't think it's so bad anymore.

Camden has a lower crime rate than Orlando and Tampa! Doesn't Mark live in Tampa?

He probably hates it because of the taxes.

He'd hate Minnesota too. He likes the weather in Florida (total opposite here) and we have about the 3rd highest tax rate in the country. I usually get around 20% withheld from my paycheck.

Of course we can look at history and see what Democrats have done for blacks compared to Republicans. We know which party has the nastier of the history and it doesn't start with a "R" either.

do you blame the current German government for the Holocaust? That makes as much sense as blaming the modern day Democratic party for slavery.

Their modern policies of the Democratic party try to latch people on to the government for economic benefits. Slavery was pretty close to that.

But 90% of blacks apparentely don't think so.

By the way, what about the 1968 election? Wallace was running because Humphrey was the Democrat most responsible for adding the Civil Rights plank to the Democratic platform. And hence Wallace took more votes from Nixon, something most Republicans here admit. And then came Nixon's "Southern Strategy" to pick up annoyed segregationists.  Oh but wait, I'm talking to someone who says he would've voted for Wallace!

Then why are you whining about the racism of the Democratic party which happened 140 years ago, especially since back then the Democrats were opposed to the man you hate most in American politics.

Texas.
I imagine I would hate living there.
Too money orientated, religious, right wing and hot.

States I'd probably like....
Vermont, North Dakota & Mass.
North Dakota is fairly conservative, but people have told me the people are extremely friendly and crime is virtually non-existant. I'd also like warm, sunny summers and snowy winters.

the winters go a lot beyond "snowy"
