Is anyone else amused that the CFG is more concerned with getting rid of Republicans who don't toe the party line 100% rather than Democrats who oppose their extremist economic views basically never?

Well there are two declared candidates. Of course they are a former football player and a fundamentalist preacher.

Has that preacher actually entered the race? This article says there are no GOP candidates.

DC Political Report says he's in. Not that it matters, a fundamentalist preacher is not the type of candidate the GOP needs in that district.
