They could try the Sheldon Whitehouse Method and say, "Look, we all love Susan Collins, but is keeping Susan Collins worth having a Senate controlled by Mitch McConnell and Ted Cruz?"

The problem is that the GOP can do the same thing. There are currently 7 Democrats in Romney states and only 1 Republican in an Obama state.

Susan Collins sits in the same caucus as a man who more or less single-handedly orchestrated the first government shutdown in nearly a decade. Or have we forgotten about that?

What does that have to do with what I said?  My point is that if states vote based on who they want to control the Senate instead of based on the candidates that Dems lose anyway.

the difference is that Republicans have absolutely no qualms tying Landrieu, Pryor, Begich, Hagan to President Obama and Harry Reid, regardless of their voting record. The least we can do is to return the favor.
