Wait, this thing happened in June. Why is all the MSM coverage just happening now?
I thought cause the arrest records and such were just made public recently.
I looked on Wikipedia and it said that he pleaded guilty on August 8. Did this just becme public three weeks later, or was the MSM too busy covering the Vitter scandal?
He pled guilty to a lesser-class misdemeanor in Minnesota. He's hardly the most recognizable Senator too. If the arresting officer kept his mouth shut, it's possible no one else involved recognized him (or they kept their mouths shut too). It's not as if people are regularly searching trial records for U.S. Senators, especially a name as relatively common as Larry Craig (there are ten registered voters by that name in Washington alone).
Unless he came public about it, it's not altogether surprising it was buried for a little while.
