Somehow I went through adolescence without having this talk with my father. I guess I was just to embrassed to ever bring it up, but I never really had any questions to begin with.

I don't see why anyone has "the talk" with sex ed in schools like it is now.  Learning it from a teacher in a classroom setting is much less uncomfortable than learning it from someone you actually know would be.

I never had any real sex ed in school.

Yeah, same here. The Sex Ed in my high school was a joke. No one took it seriously, and neither did the teachers.
