As much as I'm terrified with FPO share, this thread is in very bad taste. Most of the voters were misguided, not "evil".
basically what I think; things aren't too good for most people in Europe right now and its understandable, if really really sad, why some would flock to a party that offers incredibly simple solutions to the complex problems that face all of the Western world. Maybe if there was a left wing party that could - I know I'm saying that after a Green Party person won the Presidency (which I'm pleased with from a petty partisan perspective) but in parliamentary elections the Greens are almost always going to be a minority party representing committed environmentalists and middle-class "progressive" types. I'd hope that the far right would be a fair bit smaller in many places if you actually had a decent centre-left socialist party that offered a real alternative to voters - I think this could be a real issue in places where the main centre-left and centre-right parties are governing with each other. Admittedly I don't know much about the nuances of Austrian politics, this is assuming that it isn't a place that's voting dramatically different to pretty much everywhere else in Europe.
