For example any major shift in the climate might end up messing around with the jet stream which sends warm air from the American south through to Scotland and the North of England; and if the position or strength of this changes it could lead to Scotland getting much colder winters and cooler summers as well. Its the same phenomenon that has been scientific consensus since the 80s; just with a much more accurate description.
