As unprofessional as it sounds if anyway can find a nicer photo of Boston that fits PM me, I visited the lovely city in the Summer and that picture doesn't do it justice.

x Representative LLR

Why is this Winter, though? Fall just began and the election is also in Fall...

Because someone operates in a country where they only have two conferences Tongue

In my capacity as Chair I'd like to welcome everyone to the Glorious City of Boston. We stand here today as a Labor Party, united and full of purpose. We know that we are the change-makers in Altasia- we are the one's who stand up and fight for the workers of Atlasia. We're the ones who've been figthing in both houses of Congress for the last 4 months- to ensure that everyone has access to universal healthcare, to ensure that workers earn a decent wage and most importantly- to make sure that Atlasia stays strong and Active.

As Chair I would like to formally say as the majority of members have signed in- let's get this convention started?

Tasks
1. Election to the Politburo
2. Party By-Laws
3. Endorsements
4. Party Platform

After a period of discussion with colleagues, and some reflection I accept the nomination of Chair

I was waiting to see if we had any formal candidates because if not I'm happy to do what the Federalists did and vote by Acclamation.

Does anyone have any objections to that?

Are we really going to elect a 15-year-old representative who betrayed our party

What a welcoming environment Labor has!

Didn't your conference lead to someone trying to get expelled, and a new party starting?

Labor, for such a long time, has used a heavy-handed approach in party leadership: acting as if "betraying the party" is the worst possible sin one could commit

I challenged a sitting Labor President, and literally lead a rebellion through our February convention. I find it a bit ironic to be lectured about 'heavy handed' leadership when me and Truman where then elected as Chair and Vice Chair, and the entire party united together in the common interest.

I've got a lot of other stuff to say about your comment, but this isn't the place for this. I've worked hard over the last 6 months to make Labor a welcoming place for people across the political spectrum.

We stand together in solidarity because we know that we can achieve so much more when we're strong, and united

The time for voting has now closed

By a unanimous vote Blair is re-elected as Party Chair.

By a vote of 8-4 Truman is elected as Vice Chair.

Correct.

Members have 48 hours to propose changes to the By-Laws (If anyone wants longer send me a PM) as I assume most of the plans have already been drawn up.

The by-laws we have are from before the Con-Con, and I'd want to see reforms to the Primary System to actually make it clear (as someone who's run, and ran Primaries there's very little rules to go by)

Would this actually bring anyone in the Primary System? I mean has anyone voted Labor in the last 3 elections who isn't in the party/isn't in UA?

I'm scarred by the registered supporter scheme of any type just because of the amount of abuse that the system can cause

I think realistically, the amount of people that would use this scheme would be people who are 'leftist' anyway. It's highly unlikely that someone would vote for a Labor's candidate in three consecutive elections (for a year) in an attempt to abuse any system that we have in place.

We could always have a system where party members have to 'vet' the supporters, to ensure that no-one dodgy can slip through the net, if that's more tolerable.

I'd still be opposed to allowling non laborites vote in a primary for labor supporters; although we've only had about 2 primaries in the last 12 months so I'm happy to put the matter to a vote for conference.

Does anybody else have views on this issue?

I'd be happy for that comprise deal- with independents being able to vote with some sort of check mechanism in the background

The Party laws have been passed

We've had a hectic month in Atlasia; with the Presidental Race/The Run off, the continued Supreme Court case and the titanic explosion of Trump in the last week I haven't had as much time to devote to Atlasia but it's time to get back to work.
