Simply put, because Israel's been blowing up Gaza to hell and back. People aren't supporting Hamas or the October 7th massacres/ atrocities by doing so, but they're justifiably feeling revulsion at the extent of Israel's arguable war crimes in civilian killings

Add to that our general political polarization, a general distate that young people have towards Biden ( they were never going to support him anyway).

Young people don't want our tax dollars funding genocide, it's that simple. You people can blame TikTok or Russia or whatever all you want, but contrary to your smug beliefs, young people aren't stupid. We have eyes and see what's happening in Palestine, and we know that our government is directly contributing to it.

We fund countless tyraniccal Governments around the world. China. Russia. Vietnam.

China committs the Uyghur Genocide. We don't have massive protests demanding Universities divest from Chinese companies.

OH NO, NOT GEORGE SOROS FUNDING THE CAMPUS RIOTS!  CAUSING THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR FINE COUNTRY! THAT BILLIONARIE COMMIE!!!

Speaking of anti-semitic tropes...

This preposterousness is used to ensure that what George Soros's activities in funding Far Leftist causes through a network of organizations is never openly discussed.

Why should families of Jewish students who have suffered real and immediate oppression not be able to know who funded all this?  Do people really think that such an effort, complete with supplies, professionally made signs, and coordinated strategies just emerged from nowhere?

Whomever funded these protests needs to be exposed, and they need to be prosecuted.  They financed criminality.  And the previous poster talking about "anti-semetic tropes" is laughable, especially from an open Marxist who is one of the most ardent "From the River to the Sea!" posters here.

This is ironic; since a relatively left leaning strand of Zionism called " Labour Zioniosm " was the dominant ideology in Israeli politics from the founding, for the next 30 years. David Ben Gurion was a fan of lenin.

Indeed, it was the progressive left, who supported this Labor Zionism.

The type of zionism Fuzzy, that you and other Evangelicals support probably is Revionist Zionism. An ideology that has only garnered steam in the last 20 years or so and this strand of zionism has direct connections to Benjamin Nethenyahu and the Likud Party.

That's a false assumption on your part.  I don't take the position I take to hurry the Rapture along, or something like that.

My closest friends in my formative years were Jews, as well as several long-term girlfriends.  A number of them had grandparents that suffered great persecution in various countries in Eastern Europe, and some endured anti-Semitism from non-Jews in America.

WWII and Hitler demonstrates that Jews have good reasons for believing that the world is not safe for them, and that they have a NEED for a piece of the World's Turf.  The one they have in Israel is one that they have an indigenous claim on, far more than the Palestinians do.  And the Palestinians were on the side of the Ottoman Empire in WWI and on the side of Nazi Germany in WWII.  The moral case for Zionism is, to me, clear as a bell.  Zionism is NECESSARY.  The Palestinian Arabs have, to varying degrees, begrudged the Jews a piece of the World's Turf for a long time, but WWII and the Grand Mufti ratchet that up and it has never stopped.

Yeah but what type of Zionism is also important. The strand that is dominant in Israeli politics now, is highly maximilaist. And will probably inflame tensions with the Palestinians for decades to come.

And it has already inflamed the tensions.

The zionism that dominated Israeli politics for the first 30 years, was far more left leaning than you would have liked Fuzzy. Labor Zionism. This was the domiant ideology in Israel for a good amount of time.
