I'm with Spiral and Lumine here, I totally support the bill and think that it will achieve its aims.
I also support a public ad campaign.
Secondly, maybe it is wise to install a call service for people that seek help, but don't want to go to a practising professional, whatever the reason. There is a such a program in Austria, just for children and teenagers though, by the public TV station in cooperation with the Red Cross. Maybe we could too support the installation of such a service, in addition to that all? (not necessarily by the government of course, I guess the Red Cross would be best for that task)

Yes, I will of course write an amendment.
Okay with that?

Not necessarily. There could be a purpose to renewing from an atlasian standpoint what is a holdover from RL satute and it might even be something.

So would you change some of the language, or could we leave it that way?

At most we could just repeal any existing statutes on the matter. I know of none in Atlas since my Comprehensive bill failed, if it had not that would be different. So they would be RL holdovers.

Okay. I guess you should offer that amendment, after all it's your bill Wink

No objection, but why was the Robin Williams Memorial part in the title scratched? I guess that would be a good fitting name for it, the current is a bit bulky, I'd say.

I agree with that, but a celebrity like Robin Williams naturally attracts interest, and might help to raise a awareness of the problems he suffered, if we are able to conduct it in the right way, which we do with this bill, I'd think so at least.

Every source on the subject would tell you that it's a bad idea, especially when talking about a celebrity.

Well yes, I did not know that. Thank you.

Cranberry, do you think we should extend the repeal of past legislation to rest of the terms of the bill? It is rather nonspecific and I would prefer to avoid such blanket sweeps without including bill titles, though. On the other hand the concern about duplication or cross-purposes would be  potentially present.

What do you think?

Probably it's better that way, though maybe it would be better if we found a few bills that would be repealed that way, to give us an idea what we talk about? I will be trying to find something this weekend, as for now, I'd say we should increase clause 9's scope to the total bill.

Maybe (most likely) it's just me being to dumb to find anything, but I did not find a single act dealing with the issues dealt with in this bill... I didn't see Carter's/Kennedy's bill interfere with this one, given though I did not read the whole title, let alone I did in no way comprehend everything I actually read (some parts I thought dealt with similar things as that on, e g a section setting guidelines for mental health care centres, but nothing dealing especially with suicide prevention ), due to the language barrier I suspect.

Yes, probably someone else could scan over it, to be sure. Here's the link, the text is downloadable as PDF.

I would say we just leave the bill as is,and start a final vote, as I seriously doubt we will find something in that bill.

So would you say we just leave it like that, and proceed further?

Please, go on. I'm very content with that version of the bill.
