the new Animal Collective album that has generated all of the internet buzz.  not really my type of music but they do appear to have done with a good job with it.  it's good music to put on when you have to perform some other semi-intellectual activity, as I am currently writing an essay.  another good band for this kind of thing is The Notwist.

Working on a Dream - Bruce Springsteen

Not exactly one of his best.

do you know if his song "The Wrestler" (which will appear as a bonus track on Working on a Dream) was eligible for an Oscar?  it didn't get nominated, meaning either a) it didn't get nominated or b) some technicality made it ineligible.

The Beatles-"Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds"

I have been digging the Beatles lately.

you've become a bit of a musical moderate hero since the reset.

Mike Francesa talking about how overrated Nolan Ryan was.

Complete nonsense.

Nolan Ryan career ERA+: 111
Al Leiter career ERA+: 112

my point isn't that Al Leiter was better than Nolan Ryan.  the point is that if the beginnings of a case can be made to that effect than Ryan belongs nowhere near The Greatest Pitchers Ever conversation, which is where he is oftentimes placed.

The beginnings of a case cannot be made though. At all.

this is just going to devolve into a debate about the meaning of 'beginnings' so we should probably just smile, split a beer, and walk away
