Kamala Harris will run in 2018, for Governor. I'm sure.

But, either way, it's not to be unexpected he would run.

Isn't the CA State Attorney General the second most powerful statewide office behind the governor?

Lieutenant Governor's powers and influence are very limited in California.

Yeah, for the Lieutenant Governor, it's basically get up, read the paper, see if the governor is dead.

They need to make the CA Lieutenant Governor more powerful like their counterparts in Texas, Alabama and Georgia.

CA Lieutenant Governor should also appoint committee chairmanships and setting the legislative agenda

Nah, that goes too far.

Or maybe abolish the LG office altogether and have the Secretary of State next in line (see AZ)

In all honesty, that would be alot better. No point in having a office that does nothing.

When is the last time a Governor died in California, anyway?
