I wonder what David Leip makes of the fact that one of the most popular activities on his site, ostensibly about elections and politics, is discussing the misadventures of a chronically underemployed man from Oklahoma.
He probably wants to ban Bushie.

There's no way - hurts his wallet for sure

The number of page views for Update isn't that remarkable.  (The Comedy Goldmine alone gets more views.)  I doubt Dave even knows what Update is.  He probably doesn't even remember who Bushie is (even though he used to be a moderator).

You guys apparently don't understand why posters are banned, and why they are not, and the process that leads to one result or the other.

opebo was banned because Gully decided to play Sherlock Holmes and find stuff on a forum unrelated to this one.

What can Gully find out about you, Steve.  Or others?

Gully has been advocating for a Bushie ban for at least several months now:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=181343.0

Though, as you say, if he was really serious about it, he'd dig up some dirt on Bushie, that could be used to get him banned.  If only there was an enormous source of information about Bushie's personal life from which we could retrieve the required info….

Actually….wait a minute.

OK, new plan: Gully will have to read through every Update thread in forum history, in order to find the required information we need to justify a Bushie ban.  I realize it won't be pleasant, but it's for the greater good.

as for the final hammer: Nym/Leip have proven to be nothing but rubber stamps.

Then why did it take so long for opebo to be banned?  A majority of mods wanted him gone three years ago, but Nym wouldn't do it.

I'm glad you had to fight for it, at least.  though I can't quite take anything you say about how x or y situation went down because there's no public record.

If you don't believe what mods say about what happens on the mod board, then on what basis do you claim "Nym/Leip have proven to be nothing but rubber stamps"?

How do we know if we are being "investigated" by mods?

You join the IRC chat, and wait for mods to leak their discussions to you.

Also, things have changed around here:

Thanks, Inks.  You're a real friend, even though we disagree on some issues.

What's the problem with this decision?  He seems competent and level-headed enough to preside over a few boards that don't tend to see much activity anyway.  I have no problem with BushOklahoma, and he certainly can't be blamed for Jamespol.
