Do Republicans despise Hillary so much that she’s completely unable to attract ant crossover support? Hell, she’s probably closer to the GOP’s views then  Obama is. So is it just  a personality issue that  causes few people to crossover and support her, whereas Obama does not have this problem. In any case it is strange.

Most voters don't know that Obama is more liberal than Clinton.  There was a Pew poll a couple of months ago, in which respondents were asked to place each of the candidates on an ideological spectrum, and a majority of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents all rated Clinton as more liberal than both Edwards and Obama.
