I think what she's trying to say here is "Go to California in June, and you can either win a primary or be assassinated.  Take your pick."

Is this supposed to be a coherent explanation or am I missing the point?

She's saying that it doesn't make any sense for people to be calling for her to drop out, because past primary battles have gone into June, so it's not really that late.

But of course, the double meaning that some people might take from this is that she's implying that the nomination isn't really decided because you could still have some dramatic event like the RFK assassination.....which is obviously kind of offensive if that's what she meant, since it would be like saying "Well, Obama could still be assassinated, in which case I could win."

You're right. She's wishing that Obama gets assissinated.

All this vitrol directed at Hillary by Obama supporters is getting quite ridiculous and petty.

Not sure if that was directed at me.  (I'm not even an Obama supporter...though I may come off that way sometimes because I enjoy mocking so many Clinton talking points, which I usually find hilarious.)  But I wasn't saying that *I* think that she's wishing that Obama gets assassinated.  I was just explaining that, given the way politics works, many people will interpret this to mean "Well, Obama could still be assassinated, in which case I could win", which would be kind of offensive.
