First off, note that Massachusetts Gubernatorial Elections have always been a LOT more purple than other sorts of elections within the state - as far as I can tell, it seems to be coming from a desire to place a check on the ~85% democratic legislature, though residents can certainly elaborate more on that.

MA-06 & MA-09 are the least democratic-friendly districts in terms of electoral history, so it's only natural that those house races are not 'Super Safe D'. In terms of other races (senate, other districts, downballot crap), things seem to be going fine - 2010 senate special aside, there have no recent 'unbelievable victories' that I know of. Doesn't really seem like the MADEMS are at real risk of becoming perennial losers like the FLDEMS/COGOP have often been in recent years.(although that could all change in a few days, we'll see) Again, others are certainly welcome to expand on anything I've written here.
