Should consider running for Senate in 2018....But  Weld 1996 campaign is a caution.

It's like Linda Lingle trying to run for Senate in Hawaii. It's hopeless.

Ha, well Lingle did really well in 2006.  But  even so her second term wasn't very good and her favorables went down. Reflecting , She should have run for Senate in 2014  rather than in 2012.

She would have been defeated in 2014 as well. Governor's races are very different from senate races.

He should serve eight years and try to maintain his popularity, then run for President. There's no other office he can win in MA, no matter how good a Governor he is.
Because that went so well for the last moderate governor of Massachusetts.
Mitt Romney served four years, not eight. And he didn't even really serve the last year, as he spent much of it traveling all over the country preparing to run for President.
