Frankly, politician, these post sound more like projection on your part rather than irony.

Considering the tiffs you get yourself into with that one Alaska chick...

Give the Miners a weeks paid leave, because I just struck gold!

It never fails to astonish me how easy it is to touch a nerve with Badger.
Says the easily triggered racist.

Thanx for the deliberate post here.

Coons holds a Safe D seat and opposes ending the filibuster.  That's reason enough to replace him.

I'm also for ending the filibuster, but opposing he doesn't deserve to be opposed over that one issue. It's the my way or the highway mentality on both sides, especially the right, but also the left, that makes Washington so dysfunctional.

It's getting kind of boring and an answer of no substance.

Funny how posters like President Johnson, and Fuzzy Bear get so much flack from this forum when they are one of the least partisan posters on here

People feel threatened by them.  They don't know how to react to kindness.

Young voters are mostly stupid, I think every politician realizes that.

AOTA.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if WV ends up with even fewer voters on all sides.
You think every state is going to swing to Trump?

He loves to be contrarian.

Aw man I forgot that non-whites aren’t allowed to vote republican. Thanks for reminding us. Maybe reach out to McCarthy also so he’s not wasting his time and energy?

This kind of aggressive, ignorant attitude is exactly why minorities vote Democrat.

Anyway, look at the racist treatment the GOP is giving KBJ. This is one demographic they are doomed with, excepting ofc the Black voters they already have - hotep misogynists, selfish rich people, and others ostracized in the community

I see one person in this thread stereotyping humans both aggressively and ignorantly, and it isn’t me. This post highlights your inability to comment on anything without talking down to republicans and using your ideas as proof that they are doomed in some way or guaranteed to lose. It is legitimate ‘non-swing voter’  levels of arrogance.

My original post may have been sarcastic but it was meant in a playful way. Since you asked, let me explain why I disagree with the premise of the thread. Why on earth would congressional republican leaders not attempt to court black voters? Even increasing their share from 15% to 18% is enough to tilt the popular vote. Should they just quit because you think there’s no good reason for a black American to vote for republicans? And if they are going to court them, why not talk about issues they are polling strongly in? These are all obvious moves that don’t warrant a full discussion thread. It is clear that the intent of the thread was to push false narratives that nobody on this site even believes in

Ur not gonna increase ur vote share to 18% bc when I tell you that the vast majority of Black people think ur party is racist, you whine and try to call me a bigot instead of a good faith convo. As an LGBTQ person, this "my way or the highway attitude" and blatant dismissal of minorities' lived experience has made it hard to even be nice to republicans, let alone hear them out politically. You and your party have antagonized the diverse and celebrate cultural and ethnic homogeneity. Don't snowflake, defend your beliefs! And if you can't, find new ones

1. It’s amazingly ironic that you just said to defend your beliefs and have a good faith convo, only to say that you refuse to hear republicans out politically

2. There’s nothing to defend. All I was saying is that millions and millions of minorities vote republican despite what you may think about it. This is a fact. What’s not a fact is you speaking on behalf of all black Americans that the vast majority of them think that republicans are racist

3. It’s certainly not my way or the highway. If anybody wants to have a debate about issues, they are more than welcome to do so. I believe that 95%+ of voters are good people who have legitimate reasons for who they choose, including the D-voting majority of minority groups

Just ignore him. He's incapable of having an adult conversation in good faith.

Highland Park is 25 miles north of Chicago in a different county.
Anyways this aged well.

It's still "Chicagoland".

Whatever. Still had to find an excuse, didn't you?

You're totally unwilling to honestly discuss the issue of who's shooting who and who's being shot when discussing the totality of gun violence in America.  But don't you worry; I've started a separate thread for more honest discussion lest your precious narrative be "derailed".

To the irony thread.

No, because the absolute majority of Russians support the war against my people, support the war crimes that the Russians commit every day in Ukraine, support the killing of civilians, support the rape, support the genocide organized by the Russians in Ukraine

What evidence do you have for this statement?

Does Andriy of all people here need to explain himself on this subject?! I don’t even agree with him (see my above post) but I imagine that I too just might be biased against Russians if I were Ukrainian right now, ffs!

This forum is academic in nature. It’s not a place to rant against countries you (justifiably) have a low opinion of. Making false statements is not okay in an environment like this.

With regards to the present situation? Yes, because my supply of pity, while not absolutely limitless, is considerable. Do I fault Ukrainians (who I certainly feel considerably more sorry for) for, broadly speaking, not having any? No. They're engaged in a war of survival and are entitled to (and must) think and feel whatever is best to allow them to continue to prosecute that struggle. Regarding the long-term historical picture? Certainly. And for their neighbours. Both are trapped in the same grim historical cycle.

No, but the harassment is in poor taste and you're only doing it as it's taboo-busting behaviour. It's unpleasant and reflects poorly on you.

It’s not “harassment” to ask someone for evidence for a pretty out-there statement.

Not sure how I overlooked this one.

Typically, having your country turn from being a superpower to literally collapsing is not a sign of being a good leader.

The seeds of collapse were sewn by the aging and incompetent leadership of the USSR that preceded Gorbachev.

Yeah, and Gorbachev did nothing to prevent said collapse. He just accepted it was inevitable, which is not something a strong leader does.

But it was inevitable at that point.

It wasn’t. Anyone who says the collapse of any country is “inevitable” doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

Anyone who deals in absolutes doesn't know what they're talking about.

This is an absolute.
