Regarding "most beloved politician on Atlasia". It's not much, but his  dry frankness concerning the bizarre bipartisan support for Ron Wyden and the equally bizarre hatred for moderation does make for some amusement.

These things tend to be more unspoken, and yet here it all is spoken.

There's something morbidly hilarious about coming to that conclusion when it comes to an Atlasian trying to ask someone out.

I don't agree all the way but

Vienna, Austria vs London, UK
Brussels, Belgium vs. Stockholm, Sweden
Sofia, Bulgaria vs Madrid, Spain
Zagreb, Croatia vs. Ljubljana, Slovenia
Nicosia, Cyprus vs Bratislava, Slovakia
Prague, Czech Republic vs. Bucharest, Romania
Copenhagen, Denmark vs. Lisbon, Portugal
Tallinn, Estonia vs Warsaw, Poland
Helsinki, Finland vs Amsterdam, Netherlands
Paris, France vs Valletta, Malta
Berlin, Germany vs Luxembourg, Luxembourg
Athens, Greece vs Vilnius, Lithuania
Budapest, Hungary vs Riga, Latvia
Dublin, Ireland vs Rome, Italy

this, just because it took a bit of time to get down.

Obviously I don't agree with the conclusion...but I can't fault using food for judgment.

And there's always something funny about answering something like that in just three words Wink

It's been a while since interacting with him, but that seems a very apt title he's given to Zen from what I can tell

LOL NO, without LBJ poverty would be much worse. Vietnam was unfortunate but many Presidents have killed more.

You are wrong. You know what stops poverty: People getting a good education(Something which is getting worse year after year) , The Economy is good, people grow up in good families ,  people who have good work skills

You know whats the problem now

1. US education system getting worse
2. Employers no longer willing to train employees which can let them move up into a good position
3. War on Drugs
4.  Less people growing up in good families

I agree with that but how did LBJ effect that? School started getting bad after the 1980s. Families started degrading around that time too, with the crack epidemic and the deadbeat dads gaining prominence.

I like his posts on AAD, but also he's a really nice dude, great poster.

retromike gets too many gratuitous creep jokes, it's quite refreshing to see someone recognize him for the poster he actually is.

My opinion:

Elementary school and High school were the best for me. Middle school was garbage.

Bernie Sanders Is Not The 2008 Obama to Clinton's 2016

9:37 AM |  Jan 29, 2016 | By HARRY ENTEN

In 2008, the story goes that the Hillary Clinton was the inevitable nominee, squandered a large lead, and eventually lost the nomination to the more liberal and charismatic Barack Obama. This overblown and simplistic account is being used today in reference to the ‘surging’ Sanders campaign. Although Bernie Sanders has solidified the anti-Hillary crowd, it is impossible for him to use this type of base to propel him to victory.

In recent months, the Sanders campaign has staged a record number of campaign events in the early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada. They hope that they will be able to successfully tap into the same network of appeal that let Barack Obama win Iowa (and later the nomination) in 2008. However, they are working on the false assumption that 2016 is like 2008.

Although Clinton’s national lead, as well as her leads in the early primary states, have narrowed to almost within the margin of error, there is much less cause for alarm than most media outlets are reporting. Even in 2008, the polls showed Obama leading Clinton by wide margins in states like New Hampshire, yet she carried the state somewhat comfortably. Sanders may appear to have what some misnomer as momentum, but whatever he has will all but vanish if he fails to even win his neighboring Granite State.

A few months ago, I had written that “The Bernie Sanders Surge Appears To Be Over,” and I completely stand by that. Since that article, the gains that Sanders has made nationally and in the early primary states have been expected, if not underwhelming for a challenger that gets as much media attention as Bernie Sanders. However, much like how these primary campaigns always turn out, his numbers will shrink as the defeats start piling on, and his support will shift back to the more electable Hillary Clinton.

Even if Sanders does win the relatively easy-pickins states of Iowa and New Hampshire (easy as they combine his two main bases of very white and very liberal), any momentum he gains will be quickly dashed before Super Tuesday by Clinton’s expected landslide in South Carolina. Shortly after that, Sanders will look less like Clinton’s 2008 Obama and more like Gore’s 2000 Bradley.

Napoleon Dynamite- Perhaps the worst movie I have ever seen or could possibly be made.  Incredibly boring and incredibly stupid at the same time.  A travesty if there ever was one.

To be honest, I'm really bad at assessing acting quality. I mean, I can tell the difference between Patrick Stewart and Tommy Wiseau, but I'm not comfortable making precise judgments on acting as I do for writing. I also tend to attach more importance to the latter when considering a movie as a whole.

Fair enough, but a good or entertaining acting performance goes a long way to save a bad line

Using Star Wars, while this is a trite and cliche line, the way Natalie Portman emotes it still makes it appropriately sad:   I am talking about of course "Anakin, you're breaking my heart"

And a good or serviceable line can be hampered if the actor comes off as wooden or too far over-the-top, the former is what lines given to Mace Windu become. I mean just imagine how this line could've come off if Sam Jackson's signature style was used. "You are under arrest,...my lord". Goodness, it'd probably be something like "You are UNDER AR-REST Jedif*&(!", definitely more appropriate for the scene.

I'm not denying that. I actually need to watch those Star Wars prequel movies in their original English version some day, to see for myself if the acting and writing is as mad as some people make it out to be. It definitely didn't seem so when I saw them in Italian or French (though some moments did seem a bit goofy).

Jeb: (deeply depressed, reading polling numbers) This is unbelieveable! How can I be trailing Jim Gilmore?
dudabides: This is just a minor setback. Initial incumbency problems, you see. The people will soon realize that you were a Governor of a large state nine years ago, you're Hispanic-in-law and you have a royal name.
Jeb: Why nobody does take me seriously?
George: Jebby, Jebby, Jebby... I don't want to hurt your feelings, but you're out of your league. You might have been able to handle such a small and undemanding field in Florida, but you'll never be able to play with big boys.
Jeb: WHY WON'T YOU LET ME BE THE SMART ONE FOR JUST ONE TIME?!
George: As I said, you're not dense enough. Now, if your name was George, you'd stand a chance.
dudeabides: Mr. President, I just came up with a brilliant idea!
Jeb: (hopeful) Yes?
dudeabides: We'll take a credit for killing Krampus. You say you sent a SEAL team to take him out.
George: Why do you have to steal my accomplishments? Roll Eyes
dudeabides: That was Obama's.
George: But I was totally going to do this in due time Roll Eyes
Jeb: This is going long enough. It's time to present an ultimate ultimatum. Put Tender on line.
Tender: Hello? Wink
Jeb: Tender, this is President Bush.
George: Great, now he's also stealing my name Roll Eyes
Jeb: Listen carefully. Cards on the table. If you won't disband your Blaxican troops immediately, I'll retaliate against you in Yemen.
Tender: Wink
Jeb: STOP THESE CREEPY EMOTICONS WHEN WE'RE ON THE PHONE!
Tender: Just because I don't share your naive left-leftist Marxist Islamofascist ideology = you must terminate him Roll Eyes Wink
Jeb: That's it, I quit! I can stand everything, but I will not let some creep calling me a Marxist!
dudeabides: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The Chief of Staff jumps off the window.

dudeabides: I REGRET NO POSTS! (hit the floor)
George: OK, Jebby, time to stop playing games. You to your room, I'm the President now.

Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"?
He's basically proven guilty by now, TBH.
Ya never know 50+ women may all be just making up stories.
Regardless of our personal beliefs, every person in this nation is entitled to a fair trial, and until they are convicted, we have to assume that they are innocent, no matter the evidence.

So if if a serial killer gets acquitted at trial, but later solid evidence is uncovered on his guilt, and he even admits it, the public isn't supposed to hate him just because he wasn't convicted in court?

That reasoning is ridiculous.  People rightfully hate people like Bill Cosby and George Zimmerman, even if they aren't legally convicted.

I doubt seeing as how "cultural Catholics" don't go to Mass.

One can take vague pride in or maintain a vague sense of continuity with something one doesn't personally do.

Sorry, but why do you call yourself a centrist when your social score is THAT liberal? Your economic score is centrist, but your social score is far left. A centrist score would be under 3 (either direction).
My name is meant to be ironic, not an identification of my political views. For that, refer to my sig.
