Why wouldn't Webb win West Virginia? That's where his whole appeal is.
Because of the current anti-Democratic attitudes in West Virginia is too strong for Webb? Even western Virginia swung hard against Warner in 2014.
I think that's more anti-Obama then anti-Democratic. There's no real other explanation for the counties in the southern part of the state that went heavily for Gore and Kerry suddenly flipping in 2008. I could be wrong but 2016 will be the test case. I also think that a candidate like Webb in particular would put a lot of resources into trying to win WV.
