Administation Doubting Intelligence Community?

According to sources within the Department of the Game Moderator, President DFWLiberyLover, nor any member of his Administration, has not requested a single piece of classified material at this point. The source said that the Department regularly received briefing requests from the Yankee Administration, especially Secretary of State Bessel, but no such requests have come through since the DFWLibertyLover Administration came into office. He also never mentioned his State Visit to Iran with the Department before announcing it publicly. It's especially interesting, since there have been several pressing foreign matters that would, normally, have elicited at least a request for a briefing on the matter. Commentators aren't sure if the President is choosing to "fly by the seat of his pants", if he has a deep distrust for the Intelligence Community, or if he's got "other sources", although no one is sure what those could be.
I will be investigating the matter
Wouldn't you already know if these rumors are true or not, seeing as you are in fact yourself? Huh

I honestly think this is kind of out of the blue, It is not the job of the President to ask for intelligence, it is the job of the GM to provide it, furthermore, I don't appreciate getting any warning on this, Sad!
When I was Secretary of State, I would sometimes ask Kalwejt for briefings on whatever issue I was currently working on if it hadn't been in the news recently. At other times, I would seek clarification on a particular point (i.e. "Is such-and-such still the case in country X?"), especially if the initial GM's report was somewhat vague. It really depended on whether my actions were dependent on a particular development or status quo where the determination of the GM was the deciding factor.

Oh, come on. Even if you agree that these grievances should have been raised in private, there is a clear difference between an unprofessional editorial and a partisan hit job. Frankly, the implication that any criticism of the president is out-of-bounds is extremely disturbing; this is exactly why the GM's office has been historically marginalized.

And no, I would not be singing a different tune had this story been directed at a Labor administration. Some of us are capable of just enough objectivity to accept constructive criticism, even if we feel it could have been better conveyed in a more appropriate setting *. I don't remember anybody in Labor complaining about partisanship when a certain former GM simulated a completely unrealistic terrorist invasion of Michigan in the second half of a Labor administration. Assuming out of the gate that every controversy, every criticism, every disagreement exists because of the Macbethian intrigue of [insert name of other party here] is not the course we want to tread, and yet it has become all too common a narrative in this game. Whether or not this was the best way to get the president's attention (and I agree with Leinad that it was not), to accuse the GM of playing party politics is not only absurd, it's destructive, and you should know better.

I don't like to get involved in these sorts of confrontations, because usually there's nothing to be gained in adding to the inferno, but someone needed to call this for what it is. Leinad and Ted's criticisms were very fair, but attacking Dkrol for partisanship takes things a bridge too far.

* Not intended as a barb against DFW / Leinad / Ted, whose complaints are - I think - legitimate

This is something that should have been taken to the President and I via PM first, for sure. I think that, in my experience, a "warning shot" has consisted of a stern talking-to in private, not a critical article in the national newspaper. Tongue

Regardless, the criticism has been duly noted.
This is the correct response to the controversy, and I thank the Secretary for his professionalism.

I made a statement 2 nights ago but nobody read it Sad
Your statement was good, too; I used Ted's post as an example because I was too lazy to try and find yours again. Tongue

Lincoln-7.4% (-.1%)
South-8.1% (-.1%)
Fremont-6.2% (-0.0%)

Unemployment numbers updated March 30 (updated to correct an error)
Unemployment figures
Atlasia- 7.4% (-.3%)

Lincoln-7.3% (-.3%)
South-8.0% (-.3%)
Fremont-6.1% (-.3%)

Shouldn't the regional numbers for the March 30 update be 7.1/6.8/5.9?
