I really don't see why Democrats would see things this way. We really should be going full-GOP right now: it's our duty to make sure he doesn't accomplish anything and hope the economy tanks so we can defeat him.

It's too bad we don't have anybody with the rocks to come out and say it publicly: Donald Trump is an illegitimate president who did not win the popular vote, and our only goal over the next four years is to ensure he is defeated. This is a man whose policies are a more technologically-advanced version of those of Adolf Hitler. That's the justification.

Republicans did it to Obama because of his race, we're doing it to Donald Trump because his policies are dangerous not just to Americans, but the entire world. Until we do that, until we collectively as a party stand up and fight back, we'll keep losing. Politics is a war without blood. To do anything other than nonstop obstructionism is like bringing an olive branch to a gunfight. You're going to lose every time.

Isn't omegascarlet also pro-eugenics/"mandatory abortions"? So Mortimer's views aren't uncommon on this forum...

^Pot, meet kettle:

The Democrats' near absolute worst case scenario is a 54-46 R Senate(Heitkamp and one of McCaskill or Donnelly loses). Their likely absolute worst is a pickup in NV being offset by a loss in ND.

2022 has at least ten potential D pickups.

No, not really...
Totally agree. And how the hell does New Freaking Hampshire flip before Michigan, Minnesota, Virginia, and even Oregon?

All in the stack except Kingpoleon.

Probably a sock/troll, but still...

Except the natives. And West Virginians.
We will never be able to live this stereotype down huh? Roll Eyes

Not until the ability of Alabamans and neighboring states (except Georgians) to calculate without using their fingers reaches double digits.

I would persobally be very proud to share a party with those less intellectually gifted, and if Democrats think it would be shameful to have people of low intelligence voting for them, well, it's another reason your party is in the pits.

Well, some low intelligence people vote for dems. But it is a minority.

IQ under 80: Trump 70-20
IQ 80-140: Clinton 51-44
IQ over 140: Clinton 95-3

How is that a bad post? It's literally a statistic.

Nah, those are just numbers Wulfric made up to imply that dumb people™ vote Republican and intelligent people™ vote Democratic. Classism at its best. Hilariously enough, his numbers don't even add up and they show that people with an IQ under 80 (what he really means: dumb people™) are more likely to vote for third-party candidates, even though he claims the opposite in his other post in that thread.

Can we please stop using this thread for posts we happen to disagree with?

I agree, especially since people like Scarlet are really hijacking this thread. But then again, what would one expect from a thread like this? This was always going to end badly.

Trump isn't winning WI outside of your fantasies. Hasn't broken 40% in a single poll.

Early general election polls do not tell us how competitive a state will be in November. How many times does this have to be said to you?

It's very convenient you just want to write off all General Election polls as worthless because Trump does so terribly in them....but actually at this point in the race they have quite a lot of value.

BTW - Republicans didn't have much chance in WI to begin with...With Trump as the Nom...it's literally "not a chance in hell".

Only Trump could have brought in millions of first time voters and flipped the WCWs in the Great Lakes region.

This nonsense is really getting old:

Will you just never admit that Trump was actually a good candidate, in that he brought in millions of first-time voters and also reached out to centrist Democrats while somehow maintaining almost all of the evangelical voters?

No other Republican could have pulled that off. No other Republican could have beaten Hillary.

Again, Wulfric doesn't know what he's talking about. It's not as if every internal poll (especially the ones that are being released by a campaign) are always wildly off. Obama's and Trump's internal polling were probably spot on for the most part. Or think of McCaskill, Tester and Heitkamp in 2012.

Firendly reminder that this guy likes to criticize Republicans for supposedly being overconfident and delusional:

McCaskill is entrenched! She will win in 2018!

GOP should focus on North Dakota and Indiana and protecting Nevada and Arizona (both of which will likely flip), as well as protecting their very vulnerable House majority.

Wulfric's truly damning and game-changing indictment™ of Assaultana™

Yesterday's election was a truly scary indictment of the people of Montana. A majority of the population said with their vote that assault is a good and honorable thing. That they want to live in a world where you're supposed to body slam people whenever you please. That they want to celebrate that kind of behavior by electing those who commit it. They are truly a terrible populace. I commend myself for pulling out of my own Assaulterforte endorsement less than an hour after the incident occured, but the people of Montana clearly felt otherwise, with many saying that the incident had only made their support for Assaulterforte more enthusiastic. It is truly sad that there exists even one state in this country where people are celebrating assault.

And while Assaulterforte's apology in his victory speech was a step in the right direction, the fact is that he and his campaign gravely lied about the incident in its immediate aftermath, that his committing of such an action makes me concerned that he will do similar things in congress, and that there may be legal consequences for his actions. It is very difficult to see the sorts of circumstances in which I would endorse him for anything in the future.

I will also take this opportunity to pledge that I will never live in Montana, or as it should be called, Assaultana, no matter what incentive one may give to me. This election shows that is truly a despicable place, and is worthy of any and all scorn and insult.

At least that gives Quist and Wicks supporters a reason to be happy about the results of the election. But the best part of it is that he even put this gem in his signature, LOL. This forum is truly a strange place.

I know MasterJedi is quite #edgy and deplorable in general, but still...

I've written here before about the crisis that would follow single payer if the federal adopted reimbursement rates similar to existing health insurance programs. You're looking at a total depopulation of rural areas, huge paycuts and layoffs in the industry, and a growing call for nationalization. Nationalization is another problem entirely, but probably the end goal of most in the know about single payer.

Well you sold me with "total depopulation of rural areas".

MJ's posturing as an over-the-top liberal elitist douchebag is especially hilarious when you remember he was an arch-conservative douchebag less than a year ago. Now that's an example of the horseshoe theory!

MasterJedi isn't really being liberal so much as he is being so ludicrously anti-Trump as to be an unintentional parody of anti-Trump. Given the current political climate, it is easy to see how that could be confused for liberal.

He voted for Russ Feingold in 2016 and does nothing but criticize the entire Republican Party (both nationally and in WI, so this is not just a "Trump thing"), so yeah...
