Ebola might have been one if it was 2014. We'll have to wait and see what new "crisis" comes up.

There's often an October surprise:

2008: Economic collapse (helped DEM)
2010: None
2012: Hurricane Sandy (helped DEM)
2014: Ebola (helped GOP)

What will be the next issue to come out of nowhere and decide a presidential election?

You want us to predict something that you have defined as unpredictable?

And how the heck did Ebola have any effect on the 2014 elections?

Some on the right did not think Obama handled it well.
