1964-1966 - Optimism about the War on Poverty
1993-2000 - This period lead to the socially liberal atmosphere of 2011-2016. While it wasnt better than the latter there was a more hands off approach to social issues than the period before which lead to the start of a wider acceptance of LGBT especially in the media.
2011-2016 - Lots of progress in LGBT issues and rights.
