Not really. The more necessary they are, the less I trust them. I have very little trust in the CIA, although I trust the FBI. My trust in the FBI almost feels misplaced, though.

I read (and often write) books with spy thriller aspects, so I can't answer this question holistically.
Vince Flynn makes it quite clear we shouldn't trust them, just let them do their job.
