I am a terrible, terrible person.

Allow me to give you some background.  'Opportunity Village' is a charitable organization based here in Vegas that for several decades has worked with people with learning difficulties to help get them meaningful work and a path to self-dependence.

The free newspaper that came in the mail yesterday featured an article about one of their clients on the front page.  I read the first paragraph and busted out laughing.

Again, I am a terrible person.

The last two sentences of his previous paragraph got me the same way!  Gotta love Real Americans and their knowledge of geography!

As a fake Catholic, I find Bushie's views on my Pope deeply offensive.

Also the fact that Bushie is waking up hours early to watch a clock on a website turn to midnight ranks in the top 5 weirdest Update things, I think.

I honestly thought he'd be watching a live telecast of some celebration in Kiribati, but no, that would have slightly mitigated the weirdness of this behavior.

am i understanding this correctly:  bushie is going to get up at 4am to watch some clock on a website?  but he only cares about when the 'civilized' countries ring in the new year.

You mean you're not going to do that?

im probably not going to ring in the new year in my own time zone.

It's doubtful Bushie will either, in spite of what he says his plans are.  Once he watches the Kiribati clock change at 4am, he'll already have started focusing on Easter.

You don't really have to question every decision I make.

But given that they are without exception the wrong ones, I disagree.

^ So then ultimately what is the point of having any kind of denominations?  Why not attend a Catholic mass?

Can't speak for Bushie but the reason I'd

Nobody asked you, and this isn't about you.  Your life and your beliefs aren't interesting in any way, so stop trying to inject it into a thread dedicated to one that is.

You guys make it seem like there is something wrong with a 32 year old obese white man with a thin, uneven mustache being able to love on his young black children from afar (or his handsome 13 year old nephew, for that matter).  If Jesus is okay with it, then so am I!

Are CADD jobs mostly temp gigs or can one get an old fashioned 9 to 5 in it? That would have been a good thing to know from the outset, but it's still something worth consideration. I would rather make a little bit less in a different field but have more security and consistency. It takes a special kind of personality to manage freelance work.

But the people featured in the TV commercials for any given tech community college always show how successful they are in their careers now.  You're guaranteed to succeed.

Did no one tell you that when it comes to technical drawing (i.e. the trade by which you currently earn you daily bread) precision is the thing? Of course the assistant lead drafter gets at you for "every little mistake" you make. If he didn't he'd be negligent and would deserve to be fired. Mistakes in that business cost money and damage reputations. I point this out because businesses are not charities (even if some charities are businesses) which means that if you do not cease to make 'little mistakes' you will certainly be fired.

We'd better prepare for another one of these:

This work contract is going very well and things are looking pretty decently for it to be extended.  My boss so far is pleased with my work, and things are pointing in that direction.  There are no guarantees, of course, but things are looking as if I may be employed well into the Spring, maybe even Summer.

If it costs $1000 to hire a moving truck and a couple of guys to move a single guy's apartment's worth of stuff, then clearly I am in the wrong line of work.

I think we're going to need an inventory of all the crap Bushie has in his apartment.
